I like to imagine the MC crushing on her so that eventually if she keeps calling him an idiot he will just take his own life one night at an Inn.

It's just the way it tries to sell the feeling of powerlessness means getting hosed up by everyone.

It's so loving boring, who the gently caress thought just stripping back what you can do would lead to anything worth playing. It's just a gear check. I can't imagine how bad it would be for someone who missed the casino or didn't have boomerangs. It's right after 2 absolute pointless nothing areas and losing your best damage dealer. I could have played the entirety of the new DOOM or something in the time it's taken to get here and it just gives you the finger before allowing access to a fundamental game mechanic. Quoting this for when you actually get there since it sounds like it's still as "fun" as it was on the PS1. I forget what level I was at when I beat it but the sequence made me angry enough to grind outside the templeuntil I had battlemaster (or w/e the warrior+fighter advanced class was called) unlocked on the hero and Gabo(Ruff). Mudo in DQ6 was the same thing. Immediately before unlocking class change options you end up having to go through a total bullshit boss fight.

I've leveled up my Monster Vocation spreadsheet a bit using new data that others have found before me. There shouldn't be any holes or incorrect data now. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1h5PrRqTCV_IoUZjq_J3b3LWYrZb25w4K8Y8BvfqpwBU/edit?usp=sharing I've added how many battles it takes to master each vocation, and a new tab showing some tree progression copied straight from the Japanese wiki. I might put in another tab showing where the best place to get each monster to recruit them into a tablet is, if that's something people want to know. Some monsters simply can only be obtained from tree progression though.

Psst, anyone know where the Metal King Shield and Helmet are? I suspect at least one of them is from the Medal King, but holy poo poo tracking down tiny medals is the worst. Give me a medal detector instead of a shard detector. Anyway I have the sword and armour, I just want my entire team bedecked in shiny mercurial goodness.

I don't want to sound like a dick, but I didn't have that much trouble with alltrades, and I never went to the casino or bought boomerangs. Granted, I apparently got really lucky and only saw one desperate attack out of Rashers/Stripes in the rematch. I was able to beat the final boss of the sequence pretty handily by buffing up and focusing on healing while letting the guest party member beat him into the ground.

Shield is a mini medal reward, but Helms are a Casino reward. They're pretty expensive, but I suppose anything is possible if you amass enough money from Lucky Panel. Not sure where you found the Sword and Armor though, I'd like to know that.

Armour is from the final Haven casino, along with Meteorite Bracers and other broken nonsense, and the Sword is buyable from a late game shop, shortly before the final dungeon opens. It should be fairly obvious, but if you missed it, It's on the sweet pirate ship run by your pirate dad. And yes, between Lucky Panel and one very nice slot machine run, I have enough for everybody.
