Geographical restriction on content is understandable when it's the messy showbiz world with different distributors, deals and power balances. But when it's THEIR OWN show, there's no sense in why Amazon won't offer it globally on day 1. I guess the reasoning might go something like the show can be streamed by prime customers only, prime means free overnight shipping, we can't ship overnight to country x so country x can't stream a show on the Internet. FFS just make it available in some other way then! Or expect GoT levels of piracy.

Not sure what the issue with your setup is, but Amazon has been as flawless as Netflix for me across a wide range of devices. I mean, I do have a symmetrical 75mbps fiber connection (FiOS) but other than that, there's nothing special about my setup. All my devices are on Wifi even.

Yeah I'm going to be extremely surprised if it isn't "You'll be able to see it on your local network sometime in April 2018!" I exaggerate, April 2017 seems more likely.

I love the correlation of Australia's lovely ability to get shows at the same time as overseas, and coupled with our lovely internet infrastructure. We either wait for TV broadcast or wait for a torrent to eventually finish. The NBN techs had been digging up our street for the fibre and Telstra had a tent set up last week to raise awareness that the new network is ready. Bullshit, literally 2 blocks away and I don't have access. The NBN people were outside my house laying fibre.

Regarding downloading something to completion before watching, I've always just streamed Amazon Prime (or just rented movies) but I know on Amazon Prime music you can download whole albums to your mobile device so you can play them where there's no internet. They should really just do the same thing for video. If you're playing it through the app instead of just the website, it seems like DRM would be no problem so why not let people with poor connections just spend the time to download 1080p?

Tho now I actually have the NBN everyone should have- 100mbit fibre!

Having separate threads would be pointless and just mean alternating threads to post in based on whichever Top Gear is currently airing.
