The first superboss is pretty awesome, even though he completely destroyed me. I got a pretty good strat though, will just have to max out my job levels and get some better monsters with higher resistances.

Spoilers for those want to know a funny detail about it and who the boss is: you find God chilling in his lair and he says Thanks for saving the world, would you like to test your might against me? and hes obvously got a bunch of super attacks but he also uses like every other turn to use One Liner and the joke fails very frequently lol

amazing

protip for those having trouble recruiting multiple metal kings: you can recruit tablet bosses and they cannot run away. So after you get one getting the other two will be a snap.

minor word of warning: boss metal king hits like a loving truck and takes 2+ Hatchet Mans to kill, it's not that big a deal but just uh make sure you're ready so Maribel doesn't get destroyed on turn 2 like what just happened to me.

I made a triple MKS tablet now which is nice but I still need to do like 1000 low level battles first to get the monster class I want. And then I can grind everyone to level 55 or something and try the superboss

Yeah I've seen that, but hey if you can do it once you can do it a bunch of times I guess.

My current plan/strat , which actually mildly worked for a few turns before I didn't have the resistance to sustain it, was to have my monster class guy just use forbearance every turn to tank all the hits, use maribel to exclusively heal him, and have Hero/Aishe using Sword Dance and Multifist every turn. I just need to get a better monster, which is what I'm working on now, and maybe some levels for higher agility across the board.

put in some casino time and get some meteorite bracers too if you haven't, the haven casino's inventory changes suddenly during the endgame.

also the 3 MKS tablet doesn't really work, MKSes are still too rare there. I had a good run using Treasure Hunt though, with a 2x Bonus Ball from the tombola the metal mannequins give 30500 apiece, my Hero went from 41 - 55 in one run. his levels actually speed up a lot when you get higher.

to those that have beaten the game: check the Download Bar, a special tablet gets added post-game. there's no real reward from it but it's a fun little story thing

my plan is Champion/Hero/Champion/Champion, just sword of ultimate power the poo poo out of him while Maribel omniheals, need some serious mp to do this though so it's still leveling time

There's also a sages hat (I think I found it in the bonus dungeon?) that cuts down on mp cost for spells which can help. Is there a monster that learns omniheal? You could do that and then make her a sage too

only Platinum King Slime learns Omniheal, and to get one of those you need to have been gunning for it from the get-go(or not miss any mini medals)

yeah that hat is handy, Maribel's mp pool also balloons to batshit heights past 50 or so, she has 400 mp as a sailor at lv68 right now :captainpop: she starts getting like 17 mp per level

if you can get a Bumper Bonus Ball from the tombola I strongly recommend using it in Treasure Hunt, half hour all exp/gold/jobexp doubles, two runs of that took me from level 40-41 to level 65-69(Ruff and Aishe start leveling way slower) and I think i'm all set on levels now :toot:

I burned a bonus ball on the triple MKS tablet only to find out they're still mildly rare in there for some reason, which was an annoying decision. Next time I get one I'll just do treasure hunt, though first I'm going to get the jobs I need

when I threw a MKS in a random tablet on a lark I noticed that sometimes I'd get 2 of them when I ran into a regular enemy instead of that enemy. Not sure if it's a weird glitch or what.

Finished both bonus dungeons, brute force worked pretty well :toot:. End of the 2nd one is fun as well You have to fight all 4 spirits at once, then you find God just chilling in His summer home, He moves to your town and you can fight Him whenever you want.

Total time is 81 hours, A Good Game.

i think multipunch or whatever it's called, super fists? whatever the final gladiator skill is (champions have it too) might do more damage on single enemies than real ultimate binial blade or whatever, depending on how high your str is.

Yeah Multifist and sword dance are the big earners, but I think some of the hits can be dodged so if you're trying to beat a boss on a timer it may be risky

I believe it was on PS1 but the one thing they majorly changed is that they gave you hints on where the find the next hidden key to progress the game and that shaved 40 hours off the completion time on howlongtobeat

Getting a team full of platinum jewel kings would take 3000+ battles if you haven't given anyone a monster class yet I think. That's assuming you're starting from basics

Platinum King doesn't drop its gem? I know it's supposed to be rare as poo poo but it still seems easier to spam Hatchet Man and the recruit skill than to go through all that skill tree grinding.
