I just saw stupid, dumb, and disrespectful. also, "I disagree with what he is doing but it is his Constitutional right to do so" is the spirit of what she's saying, she just topped it with an old, white cherry.

Turns out when you use the thesaurus function on "arrogant," you also get "uppity," really makes you think. Kaepernick is just continuous proof that all our heroes, from Obama to RBG, are poo poo. #7tormscoming

When you peek behind the veil of any of your favorite politicians/public servants or just people in general....you will find a bunch of dumb poo poo Like Gandhi being a racist child molestor, Abe Lincoln being appalled at blacks wanting the right to vote, Tom Cruise being a Scientologist, you get the idea

Neither was much of western civilization. You have to view people within the context of their own times. Like, Woodrow Wilson would be considered a big 'ol racist by today's norms, but he fit right in with the times!

And if you really want to feel bad look up Mother Theresa's poo poo and how her charities did very little despite having tons of funding because she actually thought poor people deserved to suffer to be shown Christ's love and thought watching them suffer was a religious experience. Everyone sucks

That he brought it back to the federal bureaucracy (and the military!) is not particularly unique. That era was also a popular time for all sorts of crazy racial theories and eugenics. Gynecolojustice posted:Sure, but "he was a man of the times" is the laziest and dumbest poo poo, especially when his own contemporaries were critiquing him for it Yeah you're right, and Wilson in particular gets whitewashed in the history books. But you would be hard pressed to find many presidents from from that era, or earlier who didn't hold some kind of racist view that would be offensive by today's standards. Mostly I was reacting to the comments about Ghandi. He was a human being, not a saint and it's shouldn't be shocking that a political figure a hundred years ago was racist.

The Notorious RBG is like 115 years old, of course she's not completely woke. Whether or not she supports Kaepernick's protest doesn't matter, that she respects his right to do it is the important part.

RBG is usually the reasonable one who fights for issues on the left. Her disagreeing isn't what is shocking, it is the complete lack of empathy and understanding in her answer. Not once does she mention the issue of racial inequality. If you would have just given me audio and I heard, "If they want to be stupid and ignorant, that's their right", I would have never guessed that was RBG.
