Right wing terrorism has been a major concern of law enforcement- especially rural law enforcement- for a long time. Everyone likes to laugh at the Bundys and their dumbass wildlife occupation but the sovereign citizen movement has been around for decades and has one hell of a body count.

Clinton Nov. win probability: random drift 95%, Bayesian 97% A victory by Mr. Trump remains possible: Mrs. Clinton’s chance of losing is about the same as the probability that an N.F.L. kicker misses a 35-yard field goal. I'm not going to fully unclench until we're in extra-point range.

Pair with a Republican party that's been so decimated by infighting and civil war that the remaining officials are happy to fall in line behind someone who can return them to glory and a Democratic party that's gotten too comfortable from their baked-in electoral map advantage that they throw up increasingly unpopular insider politicians on the grounds that "hey, the Republicans are worse!" They probably need to blow 2020 against Clinton to get Ted Cruz or Kasich out of the way, but eight years should be more than enough time. The long-term problem with the Republican party's descent into true madness is that under a two-party system it's just about inevitable that they'll win one of these elections, even if they keep throwing up worse and worse candidates.

I wish I could put money on Predictit, but I'm not in the states, so it isn't available for me. In the meantime though, people have been predicting the death of the Republican Party forever, but I think the best we can hope for is that they split back into their original factions of pro-business conservatives, libertarians and 'evangelicals' (because they're rarely genuine in their arguments for supporting that). You'll get the business conservatives party (Republican or maybe Conservative party) and the others (Nationalist/America First/Moralist/Deplorables party). Sadly the states won't get to come close to flipping democrat unless the districts can be redrawn in 2020, but who knows, we might get lucky!
