Good morning!
Forecast for this weekend in Seattle looking pretty dire. Biggest windstorm of the year so far is hitting on Saturday, and they can be multi day affairs. Should still be churning Sunday.

Not sure how this affects Seahawks/Falcons. Atlanta obviously depends pretty heavily on the passing offense, but Wilson hasn't played well in bad weather--recall that New Orleans playoff game where he threw like 106 yards. May be a weird grind it out game.

I don't get what Cousins has to do to shake his bad rep with some local fans (I don't expect non local fans to ever think of him as anything better than laughable).

So far this year the Redskins are 5th in yards per play and 11th in total offense. Cousins has won 5 straight road games dating back to last season, a feat the Redskins haven't accomplished since 1991. That stretch includes 3 division road games. His QB rating is 90.5, higher than Rodgers, Palmer and Cam. His completion percentage is 67.2 and its higher than Brees, Roethlisberger, and Wilson.

He's obviously not perfect but I'm so tired of the old narrative on him. Some people act like QBs grow on trees and his production would be easy to replace. I think at least 10, maybe 15, NFL teams would like to have him. I for one am not ready to go back into the wildernesss to look for another QB. People forget we started seasons with John loving Beck, Rex Grossman, the corpse of McNabb, etc. recently. I just don't get the impatience. If the Skins were converting in the Red Zone, Cousins would be having a season to rival his last.

Quoted for the new page because I'd seriously like some outside perspective on this.

One other thing: The NFL requires 1500 pass attempts to appear on official career leaderboards.

Cousins is at 748 completions in 1142 attempts right now, so he should get the remaining 358 attempts over the rest of the season.

If he makes it to 983 completions in 1500 attempts, he will pass Kurt Warner for 3rd all time. That would take going 235/358 = 65.6% the rest of the way

If he makes it to 991 completions in 1500 attempts, he will pass Chad Pennington for 2nd all time. That would take going 243/358 = 67.9% the rest of the way

If he makes it to 996 completions in 1500 attempts, he will pass Drew Brees for top all time completion percentage. That would take going 248/358 = 69.3% the rest of the way.

Kirk's completion percentage last year, over the entire season, was 69.8%. This year it is "only" 67.2%, and he's not even playing that well. If Good Kirk shows up for the next eleven weeks, he will officially be the most accurate QB in NFL history. But people still don't want the Skins to keep him so we can sign....somebody...this offseason. Our fanbase is so dumb and broken.

With Kirk your getting a lot of the noise from previous years mixed in with his performance this year.

In 2013 he was awful, in 2014 he was meh, in 2015 he was good. This year according to their Rate+ he has thus far been average.

After his big showing this year people wanted to keep seeing improvement, and thus far while he has been good he hasn't been great. So you get dumb people talking about how they need to find someone else.

Also it might be because he was the person who was taken after RG3, and their expectations are colored with "RG3 could of been one of the best" and now they have to settle for "Cousins, who is good, but probably wont be the best."

I do agree with a lot of this. I'm not pretending that Cousins is going to be the best ever, maybe never even lead the Skins deep into the playoffs. I guess my point is just anger at the "rabble rabble all he does is throw picks rabble rabble", with no viable alternative.

And yes there is a portion of this fanbase that absolutely will not let RG3 go and blames his lack of success on everyone BUT RG3.

Adult film star Brooke Haven made an interesting revelation to TMZ earlier this week when she was discussing the various professional athletes she has partied with. The 34-year-old admitted that she has hung out with “a lot” of athletes, yet she hardly hesitated when asked who parties the hardest. The answer is Sebastian Janikowski.

Janikowski, who has spent his entire career with the Oakland Raiders and has one of the strongest legs in the NFL, apparently rages as hard as he kicks.

“Have you followed that man’s career?” Haven asked. “I think he settled down, though. I think he got married. I haven’t hung out with him for many, many years.”

The Polish Cannon was arrested for getting into two bar fights while he was in college at Florida State in 1998. Just before he was drafted in January 2000, Janikowski was arrested for allegedly attempting to bribe an officer after his friend got into a fight at a nightclub. That’s nothing compared to the story Haven told about him.

“We were driving one time in the Navigator, I was driving, and he was smoking a cigarette outside the window or something,” she explained. “He was hanging out singing Nelly, and all of a sudden the next thing you know the inside of the car’s on fire. He dropped the cigarette down into the side panel of the door and all these papers are on fire. He takes them, throws them all out the window and says, ‘F— it. Keep going.’ And that was it.”

Yeah its the eternal we want a Top 3 QB, when the current one you have is perfectly fine. Sports fans are dumb like that.

I'll keep it short since I'm at work and don't want to get fired, but if you look at Kirk's production, specifically last year, came at the expense of lovely teams. His 300 yard games came against NYG (2), PHI (2), TB, NO, CHI, and BUF. That's not all that impressive, especially when you look at the secondaries of those teams.

What's really interesting is that if you look at his other games, his yard average is only 204. In 2015, he was the literal embodiment of feast or famine, only he was feasting on bad teams. Dallas held him to less than 200 yards averaged in their two games, but he did manage to throw for 4 tds in those games. What does it tell you when a QB has 4 total tds on a 195 yard average?

Cousins seems like the absolute middle of the road in terms of multiple metrics, it's just that in 2015 he was the beneficiary of one of the easiest schedules in the league.
