Maybe have a first debate requirement for candidates to have disclosed a couple years of recent tax returns. If they keep a similar number of debates, they need to get rid of the undercard debates sooner, and more strict about kicking people off the main stage debates. I'd imagine 2020 is going to be as much of a clown car as 2016, since people running will be quick to dismiss their loss to Trump as a fluke, and any residual fights over which direction the party should take.
