The recent GI Joe/Transformers comic by Tom Scioli is probably the best adaptation of both franchises and I hope it lands on Bay's table before the inevitable crossover movie.    It is appropriately violent despite the retro style and also has the crazy alternate history angle - Destro's ancestor discovers the Transformers spaceship and creates the first gun in the world.

I still want to see Michael Bay do Gundam movies. The only director able to appropriately show a war of that scale, where half of humanity (6 billion people) die.

I hope they're hunting Prime and when they find him he promptly rips their faces off and sits on his throne of robot skulls. Next movie is 'Transformers: King of Cybertron' and it's a retelling of Macbeth.

It really is kind of funny how Prime has evolved (or devolved?) throughout the films. TF1: He says some weird things and has a strange agenda but also seems fair and honorable. TF2: Hoards knowledge from the world he claims to protect, leads a team on extrajudicial murder missions, rips off robo-Satan's face and crushes his soul-heart. Seems to hate his entire people and civilisation. TF3: More of the same. Admits that the war was lost ages ago. Additionally, Prime fakes the death of himself and his followers in order to make the Earth realise he's needed for their protection. This makes him somewhat responsible for death incurred in Chicago. Rips out Shockwave's eye. Murders Megatron as he claims to want a truce. Executes his helpless mentor. TF4: Is kind of moody and petulant throughout the film, perhaps with good reason. Subjugates the dinobots under threat of death. Screams "I'll kill you all" in battle. Deliberately kills a human and destroys human property. Intones the importance of honor while stabbing a dude in the back. Flies off into space to kill his creator-gods due to them reminding him of their existence and of his numerous crimes. TF5: ??????????

Well TF5 has Hitler in it so maybe Optimus will go full evil and say that guy has the right idea and proceeds to establish a deception concentration camp.
