The gently caress? Do anti-tank grenades not explode on contact any more? I was a tank driver and got out if that makes a difference. edit: I switched to assault and hit a landship with two and they both bounced before blowing up. I was noticing the first grenade tends to explode on contact, but the second bounces around a lot. I was also experiencing a lot of stutter-running lag tonight though so I don't know if it was related.

See the video I posted yesterday. It's my fav part of the game. Agree on menus, they are really unresponsive.

Yeah, killing tanks is really, really easy compared to BF4, most pubbies are just dumb as poo poo and don't ever bring anything useful. 2 AT grenades and a single rocket gun shot killed a Light Tank at full health, and all those AT guns scattered across the map knock them out in like 3 shots and the range is nuts if you can get a feel for it. You'll usually win a head-on fight with a tank too, because they tend to shoot right at the AT gun's armor plates instead of lobbing the shell slightly behind / to the side so the splash hits the gunner instead. And it's easier because only the Flanker light tank has a 360-degree turret rotation, so the artillery variant and heavy tanks / land ships without crew in them are completely harmless from all but one direction. 2 or 3 assault people on a team that know that they're doing make tanks into literal deathtraps. AT mines are also brutal as hell and unlike BF4, they don't blink bright red to let the enemy know where they are. Laying all of them on a popular road will net you a lot of kills if the enemy tankers don't go offroading. I think even a landship that drives over a full pile of them is an instant kill. Infantry combat is great, the best it's been in the series in a while. Not a fan of the vehicle spawn system or the small number of vehicles either

an AT mine detonated with an AT grenade will also completely blow out the top floors of a house or building if layed in the middle of a room in the structure really messes up a camping scout's day

Mail, flanker variant on the light tank is the closest to lav equivalent. Gun has fifteen rounds with quick reload, good against infantry. However it's useless against armor. Luckily pubbie tanks are still pretty bad so I've been able to just run away.

The set up is a little weird in typical Sony PSN style. You have to set up a party through the community area in order for it to show up in the "now playing" screen. If you just start a party as you normally would, it doesen't show up. Just got done playing with a bunch of goons. Was tons of fun, will be back on in a bit

An annoying thing - you can't quit out of a game until the whole thing has loaded. So no checking your score and then leaving to play another game mode, or making dinner or something, nope you gotta wait to join the game and then quit out.

You only have ~20 seconds to quit out of a game when it starts to load a new one. Not sure why the change from BF4. I'm sure they'll patch it back in 6 months from now

If you played battlefront, the Argonne forest map layout for the smaller scale battles is similar to the Endor map. it was funny never playing Argonne and recognizing it.

I heard people raving about how much better the single player is this time and I can't say I understand that? The tutorial level was fairly neat, pretty well done. The first actual mission where you're driving a tank around a big open warzone, busting through rubble and blowing up enemies and capturing points, was pretty great. I felt like maybe DICE had embraced the things that made the BF series interesting and decided to finally bring that back into its single player instead of just having an uninspired linear cinematic campaign like BC2/BF3/BF4 (I was also even more disappointed about there being no SP in Battlefront- I would have loved a level like this one where you're stomping around a semi-open battle in an AT-AT or something) Then the second level is this really, really bad Far Cry style stealth segment in a forest where the foliage and fog doesn't actually hide you at all, but you can't be seen, because even if you survive against all the enemies coming out of random directions the people you're escorting (!!) will get killed. It's a stealth escort mission. I'm about halfway through I think but I can't really force myself to play any more at the moment. It went right from one of the better single player experiences in the entire series to one of my least favorite gaming experiences all year. I miss when BF campaigns were just bot matches with unique loading screens.

You *can* drop smoke grenades on top of dumbass snipers, however. And if you are running support class, you can drop them infinitely.

How do you account for bullet drop/travel time? Having a hard time adjusting from hitscan games, and my current strategy of just quick scoping from mid range all the time doesn't seem like how you're supposed to play scout.
