Not to mention her leader ability that gives +5 attack on damaged units and healing after you kill them. or you can just sell all your for money. I'd say that Scythia and Aztecs are probably the most powerful civs, just because of how great they are early game(which leads to snowballing) and they still have some stuff that is useful throughout the course of the game(Scythia's leader ability and power building districts using builder charges for the Aztecs).

Man, the long loading times are killing me here. Civ V loaded up much, much faster than these games, but even loading a new map almost takes the entirety of the Sogno di Volare song. I mean, it's a great song, but is there any way to load up my maps faster? I already lowered all graphics to the lowest of the low settings.

Yesterday I realized that I installed it to my HDD instead of my SSD, after switching I noticed no difference in worldgen or loading times. As is always with Civ I'm doing something else on my phone while the turn/load processes so it's not a big deal anyways.

Hmmmm... Naturalists. Have they been covered in here much? I'm trying to create a park by getting four adjacent, owned tiles with appeal of 2 or higher. Anything else I'm supposed to do here? Ah: National Parks can be built on a cluster of any four contiguous hexes that meet the following requirements: The tiles must be Natural Wonders, Mountains, or a tile with an Appeal of Charming or better. All four of the tiles must be owned by the same city. The tiles must form a diamond shape. No tile can have an improvement or a district on it. A National Park's Tourism output is equal to the total Appeal of all the tiles included in the park. Needs 4 unimproved hexes with an appeal of 3 or better, or a natural wonder (maybe also with unimproved). You may not actually have any valid sites.

I've been playing since release with no issues other than the occasional crash, but after a crash earlier this afternoon my game now seems to be hosed and unplayable. I can get it to load the main menu where it seems a little funky (delayed responses when clicking on things), low fps, but when I try and start/load a game, I simply get stuck on the following screen forever - I can't alt-f4 the application, I can't switch to task manager, I just have to reboot my PC every single time:

Science victories are exhausting to do with the very long turn times at the end of a match and with no real challenge from the rest of the game usually. I play on Small; I can't imagine what it's like on larger maps. Seems like you'd just not bother and hunker down with something like a culture victory instead of pulling your army all across the entire world. Religious victory seems like the most tedious to actually do, though. With three wins under my belt I think I'm gonna hold off on playing more until Firaxis releases the next patch with all the UI fixes (hopefully). Solid game with a bunch of easily fixed flaws.

Easy solution to barbarians: the first two things you build are two Slingers. Then go for Archery after you've killed one of them with a slinger and upgrade your Slingers for 30g each. You're now basically immune to Barbarians.

Funny thing you can do: when negotiating a Joint War deal, once the button for "this deal looks acceptable" appears, you can change the target of the Joint War to whoever you like, then accept the deal. So as long as an AI is willing to go on a joint war against someone, you can make them go to war with anyone.

Some possible pointers for people transitioning from Civ 5. I was usually playing Immortal to Emperor here, and I think I managed to win deity exactly once. So, Barbarossa on Emperor: -Nabbed two city states with a dynamic trio for 2 archers and a warrior. Barbarossa can wreck infinity city states. +7 against them is huge. The big question is if you want to wreck a city state, or if you want to control it. I generally try to guess where the enemy is, and thus take city states that would be contested, while leaving alone city states that will be mine. I tpyically go semi wide, and tend to aim for 3-4 settled city with 1-2 captured city states. While this increases district price, My Empire will always have around 2 cities building more archers, while the other cities do improvements, workers, traders, districts etc. -Also, check the exact super ability of the city state. Some are really really nice, such as autospawn a relic when you find a natural wonder, or "hello, you can now buy things like granaries, walls, water mills and obelisks with faith (I think that was Valetta). Getting a quick 3 delegates in the right city state can be huge. -Especially as Barbarossa, I think the first worker, and maybe one of the early settlers, is better bought then build. -Beelined the unique, pretty decent, building. Barbarossa can get more districts per city, since production is tight basically every city gets a Hanse. -There are some nice times for going to war. Such as when you get catapults and they have just ancient walls. AI is pretty weak at war. -I think, if you get a religion, basically just 2 things are important. First, get enough faith, second, be able to turn this faith into something else. As such, the beliefs that allow you to build stuff with faith, or just being a theocracy, are all pretty great. -There will be a long time in which you only have one trader. I suggest using him for internal trade routes. First, he will actually survive that, second, you get roads, third, you get trade outposts which are supposedly a good thing. -Internal trade routes are also important in the mid game. Once you have 3-4 trade routes, one trade route should be used to go from your weakest city to your capital, and thus provide your weakest city with a production bonus (said city will tpyically be building some measure of production improvement). -Policies are really big. The +X recruitment to land units tpye things are pure gold, and the recruitment one (-1 Gold upkeep per unit) is pretty swell as well. Good thing Barbarossa gets extra military polciies. The bad: Well, the UU (improved Submarine) is like totally pointless. It is one of the latest units, and its naval (and thus automatically situational).

None of these diplomacy glitches are as bad as the one that exists in civ 5 to this day, if another player offered you a deal in multilayer, you could counter offer them for whatever you liked, then you could accept the deal on their behalf as you got the modified Deal notification rather than them. So you could steal all their cities and luxuries for nothing.
