glam rock hamhock posted:I like that puzzle I actually liked the painting puzzle, especially since you actually had to put some effort into it. To me a better example of bad Uncharted "puzzles" in 4 is the one where you have to ring the bells in a specific order. As with most cases, there's no real puzzle - you just open your book and the answer is there. But then you have to go up and then back down multiple times in order to do it. kuddles fucked around with this message at 20:32 on Oct 25, 2016 |

It is also like $7 more expensive than buying the Deluxe Edition followed by the Premium Pass while giving identical content. Way to knock it out of the park with the first item to be so expensive they had to reprogram the store to be able to handle it.

In Training posted:Oh oops You're not wrong in that a Japanese-developed game with that rating should be scrutinized, although it tends to be for extreme gore and violence more often than it is for nudity even in those cases. The Japanese ratings board has an issue with excessive blood (which is also why in stuff like Dangan Ronpa the blood is specifically not red), as well as the game allowing the killing of innocent people with no repercussions (which is why the Infamous games and Retro City Rampage get it), but much like Hollywood movies skirt the line but still ensure they get an R rating, so too do Japanese games do everything they can to get a D rating instead since that makes a massive difference in terms of exposure and accessibility. DOAX3 is CERO D, even.

Are any of the horror games on sale good? I'm already familiar with Dead Rising and Resident Evil, I mean the more indie stuff. I'm pretty surprised they didn't put Until Dawn on sale, but I feel like it might come to Plus eventually.

Heads up for EU/AU shoppers Resi Revelations 2 Deluxe is cheaper for PS Plus members than the current regular sale price: https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-au/games/resident-evil-revelations-2-deluxe-edition/cid=EP0102-CUSA00804_00-BHR2DELUXE000000 Picked up Resi 0 and Rev 2 since I've never played the first and heard good things (and bad things) about the second.

i went googling to see if they fixed the crashing and loading screen bugs in Dead rising 2 and DR2:OTR and the only news was that they are still working on it according to PR people posting on neogaf like 3 weeks ago, so its like 9 or 10 weeks since launch and the game reamains highly unstable with 5 minute long loads anybody see any more recent news than that to say its fixed?

The Fall is really good, especially at that price. Be warned it really should have an "episode 1" in the title because it ends on a cliffhanger and it does suffer from some adventure game logic but pretty much everything else in it is pretty good to great.

Normally I don't give two fucks about adventure games but I like the art style. Is it difficult for us non-adventure types? Is it more than two hours long (so, not Limbo)? Is the theme any good?

It's not an adventure game, there aren't really any puzzles as such, it's more like a 2D version of Until Dawn/a David Cage (no stop, only actually good) game where your dialogue options can change the story. I can't remember how long it is but it's not really a huge game, I think it took me about four or five hours to finish? Dunno about the theme.

The loading times are fine, aside from the very first time I loaded DR2 and it hung on a screen before the menu for a while. They're fine and whatever problems you've heard about the ports have been grossly exaggerated. I don't know if you've been imagining the games as being buggy, unplayable messes, but that is most certainly not the case.

I've played 3 or so hours of Oxenfree and it has been really great. It popped up on Steam for $5 recently but I feel it's well worth the price on psn. Really solid writing and voice acting and the sound design is fantastic. It feels kind of like a choose your own adventure book. The whole thing is paced really well and the engrossing.
