Considering all the cap space the Bears will have available next year and the fact that a "mid-round compensation" is basically what they'd get as a comp pick for letting him go to FA, that would be an awfully stupid move for the Bears. So it'll probably happen the way the last few years have gone.

Actually now that I think about, Belichick fixed Lafell's hands for a year, I think trading a scrappy white Amendola to Chip Kelly for Torrey Smith makes sense.
