Our party did Skipper's Canteen tonight and had excellent meals. The hot and sour soup was literally the best hot and sour soup I've ever had. It was totally worth swapping for the dessert, which was 'eh'.

I posted probably a number of pages back... I've now been to Florida and I'm not back in the UK. We did all the Disney parks, also the Universal stuff including a day in Tampa Bay (go lightning by the way...) It was very enjoyable but America is certainly strange for a Brit abroad! The help in the thread was most useful though, thanks.

I'm sure I've seen you at Haunted Mansion a few times in the last year, but thought it would be real awkward to ask if you like ham or have stairs in your house. Next time I think I see you, I'll try to get past my social anxiety.

I guess the good bits were driving - I just liked how the road works. As far as I could tell people just overtake, undertake and pull in and out as they need to If you drive like that here people would go crazy. Also with the amount of space you have having 3 lanes most directions was interesting and doing U turns pretty much anywhere was different The customer service of pretty much everyone was 1000% better than anything you find in the UK too - if I ever opened a restaurant id make sure it was American style service. KFC had no zinger burgers though (spicy) generally I found the different food brands interesting but overall I prefer Uk food

Thanks angry armadillo I haven't done any of the Disney "shows", what are the ones to make sure I see on this trip? I want to see Lion King for sure.

Nemo is fantastic, probably the best show on property. The Frozen sing along is pretty funny and has little to do with Frozen. Flights of Wonder is great if it's back open when you're here. Lion King is good too. I still love Indiana Jones, but it is dated. The Jedi Temple shows with kids outside of Star Tours is worth seeing as well.

Don't see Nemo when your tired. We all fell asleep during it. Lion King is the must see show IMO

Seconding that Nemo is probably the best show. After having seen Lion King I would be fine skipping it. I like the animatronics shows in MK like tiki room and Country Bears too.

Tiki Room is my second favorite thing at WDW so I know that well (ps buy the comic that just came out it isnt bad) I haven't seen the live shows so ill make sure to check out Lion King and Nemo and maybe Frozen....

Welp, good thing I did not say what first came to mind then.. "Damned Goons.. ruining everything." Also some shitter walked into Epcot yesterday through the no bag line with a loaded semi-automatic. He thought he could get around the metal detector and that failed so when they escorted him there he says "I have a loaded gun." or some poo poo like that.

The falafel burger at Cosmic Ray's was pretty loving fantastic with the sriracha aoili (c'mon, people, it's just mayo, can we just call it mayo?) and the crispy fried onions.

Last time I went it varied, but the majority did have to go through the detectors and maybe one or two every 30 seconds would get waved past. Funny enough, the easiest way to avoid the metal detectors is to join your party in the bag line and walk through with them. You'll only get pulled through extra security if you're part of today's profiling selection.

Celebrate the Magic is getting replaced with a new show on Nov 4th. Bummer because I really liked that, but I'm sure this will be good too. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2016/10/once-upon-a-time-projection-show-begins-november-4/ 2 weeks to go! Although I must say I'm getting more and more anxious about flying out a handful of hours after we find out who the next president is. Alright, managed to get a new flight out of Orlando and extend our hotel an extra day, so now our arrival day will be park-free. Also means we have another day for some food. Right now we've got reservations at the following places: - California Grille (Thursday night) - Sci-Fi (Friday afternoon) - Trattoria (Friday night...needed a pasta dinner before the half marathon and Italy was booked) - Royal Table (Saturday night) - Le Cellier (Sunday night) Any other suggestions? MK seems to lack destination dining other than Royal Table/BOG. I've only ever done Liberty Tree as a group (4-6 people), would it be good as a couple?

Table service wise, I continue to be a big fan of Skipper Canteen. If you don't mind leaving the park for a couple hours (again, given that you're going to California Grill), I think The Wave over at the Contemporary was probably the best actual meal I had there.

I tried to bully our group into Skipper's Canteen for lunch so I could have the hot and sour soup again, but was overruled for Liberty Tree Tavern. It was the worst meal we've had all week. Waited an extra 30 minutes past rez time, there are literally 3 options if you don't want the overly expensive Engorgement meal, and to top it off, what we did eat just wasn't that good. Bittersweet "I told you so" afterward...
