Let's hope this is the anime version of Fire Spin rather than the game version.

Awww, I was hoping this issue would have been all about Deku. This was the first time I was really hoping he would have been head and shoulders above everyone else.

Todoroki's been so single-minded and hellbent on sticking it to his old man that he hasn't been thinking about the other ways Endeavor has been effecting him, and it's only until very recently that his mind has opened up to actually dealing with his issues. Already, he's regretting his behavior and taking steps, but I hope he's penalized harshly so he can focus on other things. Like counseling, for example.

No fanfare, not more than a noticing eyebrow from the judges, just doing what needs to be done. Simple. Takes fewer panels. Unlike the conflict and drama of the two dummies getting mad at each other.

Vigilante Chapter 2 its good pop step seems destined to forever occupy the damsel in distress role, but who gives a gently caress about her in the first place. old violent muscle guy confirmed quirkless

On one hand, Knuckleduster and Gentle-Man are helping people, sometimes in situations where pro heroes aren't around...but Gentle-Man is totally unqualified for what he's doing, and Knuckleduster's methods aren't exactly in keeping with the rule of law (as Eraserhead points out). I hope the series can maintain that grayness instead of coming down on the side of Knuckleduster being totally right.

I really love Gentleman's half closed eyes, it really contrasts with the piercing gaze of the young heroes from the main series and emphasizes how half-assed he takes the world. Pop Step pop stepping off of Gentleman's face was pretty great.

In contrast to flashy official Hero quirks it's not obviously broke and makes him look uncool so I get it. I like the way this is setting up with two seemingly under-powered but versatile powers and a tough dude that wins through grit and stubbornness. I agree they need to not have Knuckleduster be right all the time considering he basically assaults innocent people but I'm OK with him being correct this time since it was unexpected (not actually, it was blindingly obvious that guy was bad).

I enjoyed the commentary on the flaws of capital-h Heroism. The only role heroes have outside of rescue work is capturing "villains", and they can't even formally arrest them. Preemptively stopping guys from committing crimes, petty or serious, is outside the scope of their authority. They aren't super-powered policemen, they're just villain cleanup specialists. Knuckle Duster is closer to a traditional Western hero, spending his time busting purse-snatchers and muggers and stuff.

I hear the Danny Elfman Batman theme every time Knuckle is on scene, and I love it. "HE'S JUST A TOUGH OLD MAN".

Korean scans are out. tsuyu apparently has stealth camo now. Other than that sort of a wet fart ending. It appears that Midoriya passed. It is unclear if Inasa and Todoroki did. To me at least.

Gang Orca is hardcore. I like that this part was just the right length without dragging on or ending into another tournament arc (not that I dislike tournaments per se, but...) Also good luck Tsuyu on your way to maximum frogginess.

I love that quirks are seeming less and less "grounded", and more like devil fruits from One Piece where they can just do whatever as long as you can vaguely justify it. Like if Tsuyu trained more she could learn to excrete deadly poison from her skin. Maybe Ojiro can improve his quirk and add a stinger to his tail.
