I think tanking is a legitimate and good strategy; I like hinkie but I think he took it to an extreme that wasn't good. You need some vets to help get the young player adjusted to the NBA lifestyle.

if 6ers paid jeremy lin or some1 to run their offence last year instead of literal sub-d-league players they wouldve been extremely bad but in an acceptable way but then theyd be like 10% less likely to have ben simmons instead of brandon ingram so it was a foregone conclusion (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

Any good GM would've made almost the exact same trades Hinkie did and drafted the exact same players. The only difference is that they would've focused more on PR. Also the moral of the story isn't "you have to tank to win" its "if the previous GM traded away all of your assets and your lineup is Jrue/Evan Turner/Swaggy P/Thad Young/Spencer Hawes, you have to tank to win"
