Do timespeed mods affect them? Either pause and let them work or speed up to 1 a.m. and collect before you end the day?

You are going to have to choose between the Abigail or the Leah horse Centaur mod, you can't have both unfortunately :(

This website has some good mods and instructions about how to install them. To use most of these mods you have to download SNAPI.

Personally I would suggest this show sell price in inventory. This is a huge quality of life mod.

The time speed mod is also really helpful. Normally 10 minutes in game time is 7 seconds real time which seems really fast. The mod defaults to 14 seconds which seems way too long. Personally I use 11 seconds and that seems like a good middle ground.

This mod shows on your map NPC locations. This is something that should be in the game by default.

This one adds a button that allows you to instantly call your horse to wherever you are.

This mod is probably the most important one. It makes all crops to be harvested with the scythe. Once you have a huge farm and are pulling up over 100 plants at a time this mod is a HUGE lifesaver.

Those are the main ones I use.

Seems awfully extravagant. I mean, if you're just looking for stuff to grow while waiting for the ancient fruit juggernaut to get going, you'd arguably get more mileage out of starfruit: cheaper seeds, faster harvests, can go into kegs.

That said, the sheer excess of a greenhouse full of sweet gem berries certainly has its appeal. ;)

Yes and no. There's a lot of good mods, but you can install them after you've begun as you need/want them. The base game is rock-solid.

....but let's say you do want mods. Here's what I use:

SMAPI is what you use to run most of the gameplay mods. It can be tweaked so it opens through Steam so you can track playtime/achievements/screenshots/etc. Yes, it's been updated for 1.1

Then: appearance mods first, these are for immersion/appearance-stuff and don't change the base game in any big way.

Get Dressed, a mod that lets you change your appearance easily so you can put on different shirts every morning or swap hair colors or whatever.
More Hairstyles. as it says!
Overhauled Marriage Candidates - I used this to change Harvey's appearance so he doesn't look so terrible, but I left the rest of the townies alone.

Next up: convenience mods. These are borderline cheating with the time limits in this game, and some take away the element of surprise, but I added them because I have a wiki problem. Do NOT install these if you want to preserve the base game perfectly. (I'd suggest adding them in summer or fall as you want 'em, so you know what life is like without 'em.)

Look Up Anything. - The megacheat. Push F1 to know anything about anything. Hover over Garlic and it'll tell you how much it sells for, who likes it as a gift, and what recipes it goes into. Hover over Harvey and it'll tell you when his birthday is, how much he likes you, and what he wants for a gift. etc etc.
NPC Map Locations. - Tired of looking for Sebastian when he's in his bedroom again? This map shows little icons on the map so you know where everyone is all of the time. It's another cheat, and on the one hand, I miss the little hunt for townies when I wanted to give them things. On the other hand, I need more time to plant potatoes, so no, I am not spending hours looking for wherever Leah is now.
Access Chest Anywhere - Unlimited. Backpack. No more inventory management. Just build more chests and you've got 500+ inventory slots.
Horse Whistle - When you get a horse, this lets you teleport the horse to you by pushing V. It's another time saver, and I love it.

Minor tweaks:

Birthday Mail - You get a letter whenever someone has a birthday. It basically cuts out checking the calendar on Pierre's shop and helps remind you when to give pizza to someone.
Loved Labels. - It shows if you've petted your animals today or not.

There are more mods, but those start getting into turning your pet into a Pokemon or replacing your horse with a dinosaur, and they aren't essential, so to speak. Look around, there's a lot of cool stuff!

I didn't end up buying any rare seeds. I had 5 I had bought earlier, so I am just going to breed them along side the Ancient Fruits. I filled up the rest of the green house with a crop of Hot Peppers, as I have a good cheese making operation going, so I can do Pepper Poppers. I could stack it with my coffee to :flashfact:.

I ended up needing every pennie. I had saved up $100,000 for my cranberry seeds, but even that didn't turn out to be enough. I sold more artisan goods on day 2 to finish my field of Cranberries, now they won't all harvest on the same day :( But that's fine, I have $0 and that's the way I like it.

You could always wait a day to delay the first harvest so it'll sync up with the second group, if you really want everything to be harvestable on the same day. (The crop timer resets when you harvest, not when the crop first becomes harvestable.)

Non-fruit trees will grow fine with adjacent stuff, at least to a certain point. If you have two trees adjacent to each other, only one will grow fully, the other will remain at phase 2 or whatever until adjacent stuff (like the mature tree)is cleared.

Just open it up in Notepad++ and do a search "professions" and you will find the section you need to edit. It looks like this:

<professions><int>1</int><int>13</int><int>18</int><int>24</int><int>6</int><int>4</int><int>17</int><int>21</int><int>9</int></professions>

As an aside, the most recent ad slogan is literally

"Drink Till
You're Happy"

so, that's obviously why Shane hates being given Cola. I mean, it's not like Joja is engaging in witchcraft to make people buy their poo poo and it has horrible, horrible side effects, and it's not like they're the harbinger of death for your town and it's seasons of farming and quaint charm, thereby furthering the aims of some horrible thing from beyond. That would make Morris some kind of evil spellcaster who wants to gently caress everything up!

Shane needs professional help, but if you've decided to help him, you need to help him until he can get it for himself.

Here's a link to the updated mod in my dropbox. Just overwrite the file in Steam/SteamApps/common/Stardew Valley/Content/Data with this one.

You'll know it installed correctly if the tooltip for omni geodes says they contain artifacts. The mod moves all the minerals from omni geodes over to magma geodes, so you can still get all the minerals.

The usual choice is the critical line. Instant kill is nice.

On the other hand, once you get the Galaxy Sword, it probably doesn't matter much anyway.

It feels like Fighter -> Brute is the way to go. Defender seems pointless because at that point you'll have stacks of sashimi or blackberries or whatever for healing.

Even with Scout, critical hits don't happen that often, and Acrobat is totally worthless. Desperado can be neat when it activates, but from my experience being able to take out snakes in two hits is preferable to three hits with the occasional instant kill.
