I'm enjoying the spooky FB icons, to be honest. Adds just enough levity to their schizophrenic white supremacy.

Intoluene posted:Maybe ask this dude about the fact that an official apology about the colonial treatment of Aboriginal Australians and the entirety of the assimilation policy is a contentious issue. Maybe he'll change his tune. Last week I met a man who grew up in a residential school in Canada, because they last one didn't close until the 90s. He was part of a panel talk I attended and he spoke about how he was beaten for speaking his native language but he refused to stop and is teaching it to his grandkids now. He also mentioned that when Stephen Harper went on TV to issue an official apology from the Government of Canada, he didn't make eye contact with the camera, but instead looked away, and the guy told the group of us that it felt like the most insincere apology in the history of the nation. poo poo like that isn't something people just get over, and a systemic attack on entire cultures and aggressive suppression of entire groups of people that occurs for decades upon decades doesn't just fix itself overnight. Repercussions will be felt over several generations, and continuing to attack them and lob abuse at them because they're not perfect yet doesn't help the situation at all. I'm fortunate that I only know one openly active racist, and she gets called out whenever she says anything stupid. I'm sure there's plenty of people who are judgmental as gently caress, but they're not open about it.

Aside from stiffing his loyal team when he sold out and building, among other things, a wall of M&M dispensers in his turbonerd palace, he's now an Redpiller/MRA and gets in twitter slapfights with marginally famous internet personalities. ehh, Notch is at least terrified of women so you don't have to worry about him assaulting any. So he's got that going for him.

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person. Donald Trump gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his office for a job. He then took $20 out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person. Hillary saw this, so when they came to another homeless person, she walked over and gave him directions to the welfare office. She then reached into Donald’s pocket and got out $20. She kept $15 for “administrative fees” and gave the homeless person $5. Now do you understand the difference?

I really can't wrap my head around this, it blows my mind how self-centered some people can be. Notch loving made a billion off the Microsoft deal. He'd never have known the difference if he'd given every Mojang employee a $1 million bonus just to say thanks.

Especially galling because he was already a millionaire from selling the game in the first place. He had a fiancee who was about to leave him until he struck it rich. They never got married and she left anyway because even being a millionaire isn't enough to put up with him.

I hate to say it but...that's probably one of the ones that didn't survive. The surviving triplet probably got swept off to the NICU right away, but we always give parents some time with babies that have died or are dying, nicely wrapped up like that, to say goodbye.

The parents usually take pictures, which is understandable, but I wonder if they gave Gross Aunt Shirley permission to post pictures of their intimate moment around the internet to make a point? Dammit, beaten.

It looks like the mom is the one who posted it publicly to Facebook, so she might be one of those really pro-life moms that have no problem using their personal tragedy to tell other women how to feel about their own traumatic moments. I really really hope not, but... God dammit I'm depressed now.
