Any opinions on the Custom M44 at the BoO DZ vendor? It's expensive but it has Coolheaded and all five mod slots ![]()

Make it like Underground but it's offices and layouts instead, and with windows to look out of.

I found an LVOA-C with Predatory (heal over time on kill), Sustained (6% heal on kill) and Ferocious (10% vs Elite, in 3rd slot so no requirements). Any ideas for gimmick builds centered around massive health regen ?

I imagine that'd meld well with anything Alpha Bridge if you want a legit good build that isnt necessarily gimmicky. I've got those stats on an ACR, and gonna get another AR with the other poo poo to flesh it out then go 4/2 Alpha Bridge/Nomad to be the baseline endgame nerd. Thronde posted:Exactly what I want. I posted something earlier similar to this. You could go 4 Alpha/2Nomad. Stick self-preserved on your second AR and stack as much crit as you can and you'll end up with a HoT on kill, heal on crit, and 21% heal on kill (15% from the 2 piece Nomad set bonus). Another fun thing to try might be running the Tech Support talent (kills extend deployed skill duration) with the support station for crazy amounts of regeneration, and if you do manage to drop you'll have both recovery link and the support station to revive you.

How do you folks decide when an item is worth recalibrating vs. just vendoring and hoping for something better? I'm getting the point where I should think about recalibrating stuff but I'm not sure what makes an item "good enough" to start throwing cash at it to hope it get's better.

For me it's whether the item has all but one thing I want. I focus on firearms/stamina/armor, damage to elites, and primary weapon damage. If all but one of those are present and high, I'll reroll a few times to get the thing I want. I keep a few million cash on hand just in case daily/weekly vendor rolls are good. I'd be interested in mathematology/others' experiences.

after rolling around with a Predator set i'm not really feeling the set bonus, am I wrong for thinking that I have to roll pulse and first aid all the time? If so is the FireCrest set as good as it looks on paper? I know Alpha is rated higher but boooooring.

Is there a reason to do the daily missions over farming underground? Aside from birdbucks, the amount of loot that drops doesn't seem worth the time.

That said, Firecrest does look like the fun havers set even if the 4 piece damage bonus doesn't come up enough to warrant it. You could roll 3 piece Firecrest with 3 piece Lonestar to amp up your M60 and backup shotgun, 3 piece Firecrest and 3 piece Predator's Mark for that damage boost to your assault rifle or 3 piece Firecrest and 3 piece Nomad for solo tank action. I'm personally trying to build a 4pc Firecrest with Savage and Specialised, I have a nice MP5 to go with it and I'm looking for a decent DMR with coolheaded.

Also I went with the headshot an enemy to pulse them and with an M60 I'm seeing crazy poo poo like 90k headshots ![]() Also something that hasn't happened in ages happened today: I met a friendly pub in the DZ. We were both at the library, and two heavy gunners spawned so even with my 290k toughness or so I got chewed up a bit. Took cover and I hear the WOOOSH sound of a launched skill and I think oh boy some jerkass decided to sticky bomb me ![]() But instead I get healed by a random. Then we teamed up and wandered the DZ for a good hour just having a really fun time ![]() It's times like this that I love the dark zone and would be all over a pure co-op PvE only version. Also holy loving poo poo the spawn timers for named enemies and crates and purple areas seems really short now. Like we cleared the refuel depot, and within ten minutes it was full of enemies again.

I get a decent amount of loot above ground, no more or less than underground. I mean if you have fun running the same thing repeatedly then do what you want? But there are plenty of ways to make this something beyond a 'looping the same sequence simulator'. S&D/HVT, missions on higher difficulties, DZ, underground, and eventually more with DLC. Journey, not just destination ![]()

Honestly I just have a hard time match making into the daily missions vs. underground. I get into teams immediately for underground and its a few minutes before a single person joins up for the daily mission. If I'm lucky the team fills up halfway through, just wondering if I'm missing anything if I don't run the daily missions.

Yeah crafting got nerfed hard early on so outside of gear mods where you want a lot of rolls of the dice ( and you can't recalibrate ), crafting isn't the big deal it once was. From early on to end game selling the majority of your trash is the way to go. Early game your character is progressing faster than the mission content, so you may be level 15 but your enemies may only be level 12 and dropping level 12 gear - so buying current level gear from the vendors isn't such a silly thing to do, and by endgame you can turn cash into caches.

The game really shits loot all over you now. The "Random Set Piece" packages for 100 Phoenix Credits are nice; or at least nice for me because I bought 3 and they rolled up items for my 3 lowest-ilvl slots. Nothing amazing, but hey 229 set-pieces. I still feel insanely weak compared to the heavily optimized guys but I think running dailies works well. I need to wrangle my friends back into this game to get a group for HVTs.
