The $15 never made sense to me really. If you are working a job that doesn't pay that then why don't you go out get a sales job? There is a huge demand for sales people now more then ever considering millenials aren't applying for them like gen x and BB did. The demand hasn't waned, only the supply. So whenever I hear people bitch about it IRL I ask them have you ever worked in sales? They sneer and say no. then I lol and tell them well base pay for most sales jobs is $15 per hour, maybe you shouldn't be lazy go get one. But if you are a real man you'll take 100% commission one which you can live like a king when start selling. These people do want a hand imo. Do you mean like sit-in-an-office corporate sales type poo poo or actual retail guy-with-a-nametag because lol if you think the guy at Radio Shack or Best Buy or Guitar Center is making more than like $10-11 an hour, and that's including commission. Also I'm not sure where this whole "lol millenials are entitled amirite" thing comes from, because most of the retail stores I go into are staffed almost exclusively by bored mid/late twenties people. full-commission sales jobs also tend to be massive soulcrushers from what I've seen.

Retail is lowest of the low role that can be called sales. loving lol that you think retail sales is remotely in the same ballpark as enterprise SaaS sales, stocks, real-estate, credit repair, etc. I'm talking about sales jobs that you can make real money at, where $15 per hour is crap and if you live off it, you feel ashamed. Full Commission is also the only way to make great money. Its soulcrushing because many companies that have 100% commission are selling a poo poo product, which drains your loving soul to sell. If you work for a company that has a good product, that people should buy, and its 100% commission loving goddamn its loving amazing.

the issue isn't really that there aren't jobs that pay well out there, obv there are the issue is that you're always going to need cooks and janitors and whatever the hell else so why not structure society such that those jobs aren't a living hell? ideally society is one in which you'd feel okay about being placed into any position on the pyramid; obviously the top is more desirable but you'd still be able to do fine on the bottom. e: also it's not true that there is a well paying job for every single person out there who wants one For every decent real sales job that still exists there's like 40-50 scam MLM jobs and it's a job in of itself to land decent work (god help you if you have no connections to lean on).
