Quick note about polling, yesterday hat Remington and Gravis with two PA polls at a thin +2/+3 Clinton margin, which is loving weird.

Crowsbeak posted:Also the love Putin gets comes from despair. Russians need someway to think their nation still matters and Putin by being a bully who interferes in the west provides that. They have nothing else. I assume they also want a "strong guy" to keep the country together. Post-Communism it was collapsing into lots of little states that hate each other. "Balkanization" is not good for peace. At least Putin keeps the area together, and keeps it relatively peaceful. A more moral leader might not be able to. Putin directs his people's frustration at external targets (like all good dictators) and that way keeps them from each others throats. Doesn't mean that the USA should model themselves on him. The USA is in a pretty good spot. There's no (real) danger of Texans seceding and annexing Mexico. There's no need for a bully boy, despite the bullshit Trump is selling, telling the rubes they do need one (him.)

Trump cries about the election being rigged and then actually rigs the election somehow. Democrats wake up shocked the Donald won and cry that the vote was rigged and then Trump uses his opponents' own words that it's all fair and on the up and up against them. The fact that I don't automatically chalk this perception up to a fever dream says all I need to know about this election.

There is no real risk of Russia splitting, except maybe Chechnya and a few tiny spots like that. The Czars and the commies were too good at ethnic cleansing and cultural erasure for that to be a risk.

Guy Goodbody posted:The correct way to get Russia to stop doing that stuff is to install a pro-America leader. Not cut off the internet. Take a big pair of scissors to the one internet cable that goes into Russia. You don't see a lot of North Koreans posting on Reddit, but their country hasn't turned into a good place because of that Russia meddling in US elections is bad. Clearly the solution is to meddle into their politics. Some democrats itt are basically calling for a new cold war.

For more context, this was drawn by Milo Manara. An artist known mostly for his erotic art. So basically Marvel hired a guy who does erotic comics and asked him to draw a cover and this was what they got. Rather than go "gee, maybe that's not the best choice," they just ran with it. Marvel are idiots.
