It's pretty clear that they are imagining themselves as a hot, sexy woman not the exact female equivalent of themselves.

Dilbertman is an idiot but you dont have to go so far in correcting him that you pretend dating is the same experience between sexes. The response rates on online dating sites alone proves that much.

Lol. Several of my friends have "I am gay" as the first line of their online dating profiles and they still get hundreds of messages from guys who either didn't bother reading or just got turned on by the fact they are gay women. And these guys typically send really horrible poo poo in response when they're told "read the first line of my profile", like rape threats and poo poo. It's heinous.

Okay, fair enough. I should mention that women have to put up with creeps and sexual predators and poo poo. I don't know what the actual ratio of actual dateable men to creeps are in terms of messaging they get (probably tragically high). A better measure would be how many women actually get dates from online dating services. Or second dates, I guess, to further weed out the duds.

so in my car tonight I got to listen to Lars Larson (I think? He's the guy that uses Thunderstruck as his intro right?) say that all of Hillary's Emails while she was at the State Department are the property of the American Public. All of them, every last one of them. And how dare she delete them rather then release them, in full, to the American people. It's not even about her having classified information on an unsecured server or anything, it's literally just straight up 'let us read all your poo poo and attempt to find something we can prosecute you for'

Lars Larson is probably the most dangerous Right Wing Radio host up here in the PNW. His voice doesn't have the crazy, and if you weren't aware of the fact that he's apparently streaming in from an alternate reality you could almost believe he was sane. Almost. I wish I could find a transcript. He had someone on the other day (It was Saturday, so a rerun of some day) talking about how police in latino dominant areas are told to "not deal with cases of older men with extremely underaged women because that's part of their culture." Literally insane. He's the sort that will play an audio clip, then without batting an eye talk about how it said the exact opposite of what he played.

Wait, why does the State department (and I presume anyone under the executive branch) have to make emails public, but not congress? Or the Supreme Court?

Mr Interweb posted:Wait, why does the State department (and I presume anyone under the executive branch) have to make emails public, but not congress? Or the Supreme Court? FOIA and other open government provisions only really apply to the executive branch. Congress, because it is extraordinarily self-serving, takes the position that the communications of congressmen/senators are protected as political speech. Lower courts are created by congress so they theoretically could enact legislation that requires disclosure for those, but SCOTUS is off on its own as the only explicit piece of the judiciary created in the constitution. SCOTUS governs itself. Congress, in theory, doesn't have any control over it other than being able to reject members and may be able to remove members after impeachment(though the actual removal of a sitting justice has never been attempted).
