Man, am I the only one that wishes we had Sporefall as an ability? I'm sick of seeing it used against me because it's such a horribly broken, perfect, and unstoppable skill but I can see it being a useful 8* skill.

Well if blue magic ever gets in, you can pretty much guarantee bad breath, which is more or less the same. Surprised I haven't seen it as a SB yet, maybe Strago's BSB?

At least Bad Breath can miss, Sporefall permanently fucks up the battle when it's unleashed. I'm finally catching up with the 12 event, can you tell? The 99 difficulty dungeon should have an extra 9 or maybe 9 extra 9s because of Sporefall.

Ok, so I did some math to test my current monk's ability to reach maximum lifebane. I was using either their level 65 attack or whatever level the were if higher than that. I also used dragoon's determintion as their rm, the 50% attack boosting monk move and a 30% attack boost ontop of that from a rw. Isn't onion Knight's bsb an attack and magic boost of about that level? Anyway, once I get axe access on galuf, I'll only have 5-hit lifebane in 3 realms. Not counting ffxiii, cause zell is my chain starter/full charge guy and raijin isn't out yet. Tifa and snow need 21 more points in attack. Yang, amarant and sabin need 26 more. Refia needs like 8 more if I'm using her default soul break, and yda needs an astronomical 72 points. Technically joseph needs like 10 more points, but gently caress joseph. I only have 4*+++ daggers and fists for yang, tifa, snow and sabin. So if I pull a weaponthey cn actually use, they will surely benefit from it. I also need to keep farming dark matter for all these 4* weapons and armor I'm boosting. loving gyshal greens will not drop.

Let temptation take me and did an 11-pull on Ashe 1. I now have an Orichalium Dirk+, Alberdann, and a decent heavy armor with minor dark resistance. No Ashe BSB, but I think I came out well enough. EDIT: Also Magus Sisters died horribly to a 565 ATK Celes before any other modifiers.

OK's BSB along with other bursts like it (for example, Maria's Song) are +30% ATK/MAG, yes. If you've got a good enough selfish boost SB that stacks with Shout/Meteor Crush (for example, Combat King or Refia's upcoming BSB) then you can hit five hits in any realm as long as you have a synergy 5* weapon for your monk to use. Likewise, Jecht with Dark Bargain won't have many problems, though that leaves him choosing between DB and MC if you aren't running Shout.

Celes OSB Banner in 5 months. It's a long wait but if you really like Celes and wouldn't mind the Medicas Girl Power isn't that bad of a banner. It was on Keeper's Choice 3 in Japan as well, so it's pretty likely it'll show up there with your choice of EnElement SB. While the Keeper's Choice Banners have changed, they've mainly been upgrades so Lightbringer should only disappear if they add an OSB to that Banner. Probably in 3 months?

Is it just me or does FF12 in general have the worst designed and overtuned bosses in the game so far? Because Ahariman is loving bullshit with it's Maser Eye. I honestly worry for us if they decide to make Yizamat a boss. Fuckin Millions of HP in it's home game.

Overtuned? I think FF8 edges it out, just barely. I'd rather deal with Ahriman and Daedlus than Mote Ifrit, the Disciplinary Committee, or, god forbid, Parade Float.

FFXII isn't nearly as bad as III.  Not looking forward to whatever shenanigans Garuda is going to have in the Cloud of Darkness event.I mean Mandragoras are a pain, but some of XII's fights like Dr. Cid are pathetically easy. Also just about all of the worst fights (except again, Mandragoras) are weak to Holy.

I still have no idea why they bothered giving Maria, Rosa, Vincent, and Serah sharpshooter 5*. It's not like they can do physical damage worth a drat, so unless they add magic shooter commands...

Rosa/Vincent/Serah are all canonically ranged specialists (it's also why Rosa has a splash of Celerity), and Maria is the only Bow Mage other than Serah. They may give it magical skills eventually, though. Hell, a MAG-based holy attack would be especially interesting, considering the only other non-SB source of that is Alexander and none of the Shooter mages have Summon.

Maria's comparable to Edward, and Vincent actually beats Red and substantially outslugs Barret in his own cast. If you have his own guns, he even can do it while casting spells! He's kinda neat that way. I could see sometime where Sapphire Shot off them might be a better option than their water magic for hitting a water weakness, considering it double hits. Maybe. If I squint. It's a small niche, but it's there! And for Rosa, I believe the 4* is her best/only multiple target damage option, so maybe it'd be sorta useful if you have a copy laying around, for dailies. There is absolutely no fathomable use for Serah's.

Why the gently caress does DNEA continue to make bosses with maxxed out or borderline maxed out speed. They're loving stupid and not fun to fight at all. Doesn't help he has not one, but 2 moves he can spam at will halfway that basically end the attempt right then and there.

The XIII series is weird because the games only get more solid gameplay wise as you get further in while the story just kind of ignites into a horrific fire as you go. Also while Noel's skillset is kind of wonky his relics are all very solid, his BSB in particular is a great mitigation tool to have on a non-support. Serah is kind of just a stock standard black mage though sadly. Even her BSB is just a basic damage + EnSpell thing. Her second SSB is really good at least, offering MAG/MND +30% and Hastega for some delicious mage meta buff stacking.

Yeah, I tried to read a plot synopsis of XIII-2's story the other day and hoo boy is that ever some convoluted, stupid bullshit. Though it doesn't help that any time I think about XIII-2 I remember reading that interview with the devs where they assured the interviewer that, though Serah was using a sword in that scene they just showed, she'd soon enough get a weapon that would preserve her femininity.

Noel's SSB is the cool one I think. It's literally built for weak phase spamming between Instant Cast, self Chaincharge x2 and 100% Interrupt chance. I think that only shows up in the Lightning OSB Banner though. The XIII-2 plot is more Etro is really dumb, and so are the people who follow her. I just mentioned the Keeper's Choice since those have changed the least between here and Japan, or at least changed in somewhat predictable ways. The Terra OSB Banner was Fire themed and the Hope OSB Banner was Holy themed, hopefully they go all out with the others and theme them. That said, DENA also did things like putting Bartz's Enwind on a different Banner then his OSB and Bartz's Banner having 3 other water SBs, not Tidus's. Blue Magic, and the characters that were clearly left terrible because they might get the skill school eventually. For example: Quistis, Kimahri, Quina, and also all of their weapons that have +Mag regardless of their actual casting abilities. It's seems like they've been future proofing them for blue magic from the start.
