In theory, if Trump wins they get a conservative SCOTUS judge, probably another when RBG retires. They get influence over the redistricting in the next census. Etc. They're banking on him being a puppet and going along. So there are things at stake and that's making them cling to partly loyalty. (Also it's all they know how to do.)
