Of course she responded as you'd expect. His letter from when Tropic Thunder was released in 2008 made my heart hurt a little. Denigrating disabled people is probably as low as you can get on the social totem pole without being a straight-up child molester. I don't even understand how somebody's self-image could be so poor that they actually get a pick-me-up from scoring points off of people who can't really fight back at all. What I'm saying is, if someone wants to raise a vigilante militia where we beat these ableist assholes with a sack of doorknobs, I'm down

Interesting profile of the landscape architect of Trump's Jersey golf club, which cheeto benito is such a fan of he chose as his burial plot, in the Oct. 24 New Yorker that I didn't see mentioned--the guy was, naturally, not a landscape architect at all, but a 24-year-old law student working a $7.50-an-hour tree-cutting summer gig when Trump fired his boss and the new guy essentially went "You! Landscape guy! Get to work!" He went home that night, googled 'French formal gardens,' and ended up just deciding to Versailles the whole place up.

I've been lurking this thread for a long time now, and I've learned two things: one, people who supported Bernie Sanders in the primaries are misogynists and white supremacists, regardless of how their support shifted after the nomination. Two, anyone who is or was a STEM major is subhuman, worth far less than the energy their bodies will release when incinerated by nuclear fire. It's very important to refer to people who work in IT as "computer janitors" because denigrating labor is a hallmark of progress. SA liberals own. (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

While I don't necessarily disagree with you, it's sort of weird to hold the combined viewpoint of "denigrating labor is bad" and "calling someone a janitor is bad." The only reason the term computer janitor would be insulting is if you consider calling someone a janitor an insult. (Also speaking as someone who has worked in IT 'computer janitor' isn't an inaccurate description.)

Is there anything to the story I'm seeing on Facebook trending about how the FBI has a "high-priority" investigation into the Clinton Foundation and some FBI source told Fox News that an indictment is "likely?" I don't have even close to enough time to investigate it at work today but I didn't see anyone talking about it, or a headline on WaPo or NYT, so I'm guessing it's a bunch of hot air.

Lightning Knight posted:http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/?ex_cid=mobilebar&v=1 Y'know, as long as she wins, I'm pretty glad that Hillary wasn't the nominee in 08. Because of what the presidency is. We act like the president's policies are the most important thing, but they're only a piece of the puzzle - they also are Commander of the Armed Forces, Chief Diplomat, and they have to have skill at working the system in all of these areas. Hillary is our first president in a long while with hard experience at all of the things that make up a presidency, and while serving as FLOTUS, and a very politically active one, I'm really glad she also got her time in as Secretary of State. It's a fantastic exercise in learning the ins and outs of the foreign policy aspects of the job, and a big part of why I feel her qualifications are so high. I'm actually struggling to think of an aspect of being a modern US President where Hillary doesn't have relevant experience.

Goodman (seriously, go read his twitter feed and not think he's completely unhinged), and we're generally sick of mgmagic's shtick that Bernie would have performed better than Hillary because holy poo poo we've had this conversation over and over already. A lot of Clinton supporters here supported Bernie in the primary (myself included!) - If you're a STEM major that thinks you're suddenly better than everyone else because you think you have a magical degree that allows you to look down upon people with disdain, yeah you're probably human garbage - This is a bad troll

On the other, there are already tons of places to eat around there, and it'd be nice to have just one area of the harbor that's relatively chill. Plus it might be nice to encourage growth in other areas of the city instead? That one isn't going to be on my ballot (I live just outside the city) but I'm with you on keeping at least part of the harbor relatively chill. Frankly I'd rather see more growth and development in other parts of the city.
