TL posted:Has Netflix ever released an original series one at a time, or do they always roll out the entire series at once? The thought of fourteen new MST3Ks at once is dizzying, but I think I'd rather have it spread out, personally. Not "original" original but the Canadian show Between released episodes weekly because it was also airing on Canadian TV at the same time.

I can think of few weeklies actually. From dusk to dawn, Chelsea handler ' show, Mike Tyson mysteries etc.

Chelsea Handler's show is probably the only thing they actually produce that was put on weekly, because it is a talk show. Everything else is through distribution deals.

I think they did weekly for one of their kids' shows? (Though they better not pull that poo poo with season 2 of Voltron) And stuff like The Get-Down and that Ashton Kutcher one are doing staggered releases. Marco Polo also had a one-off holiday special.

Bojack Horseman also got a stand-alone Christmas episode.

Joel mentioned on Dana Gould's podcast that Netflix doesn't have an exact date yet, but it's probably January/early 2017. Sadly Joel didn't shout "go to bed, old man" during the interview.

Is it weird that when I first started watching the show as a teenager, I did it for the sketches? I even recorded episodes specifically so I could skip past the theater segments. "Joel Remembers the 60's" from Catalina Caper is one of my favorites.

I love all three sketches from Horrors of Spider Island, even though I think the first and third should have been switched.

I taped Riding with Death and watched it a lot (obviously). Also partial to Agent From HARM's courtroom shenanigans, and Crow's report on women from Hobgoblins. Bill's delivery on "I don't remember" is perfect.

I started watching MST3K for the sketches when I was a kid, but grew more interested in the films as I got older. The first episodes I saw were from Season 2, which I feel was an especially good season for sketches—off the top of my head, there's Funny or Not Funny Floating, Creepy Girl, Mr. Hoover's autopsy, Wild Rebels cereal, and everything from Godzilla vs. Megalon. I even kinda love the infamous "Joey the Lemur" sketch from King Dinosaur. Joel flubs his lines, it's totally incoherent, it airs before the part of the movie it's even referencing, and it's not even a lemur—it's a kinkajou.

Watching Jungle Goddess in the first time in forever and I forgot all the great jokes about how hilariously racist that movie is. "They are a simple, childlike people " "They don't even shoot things they don't understand!"

Some puppets were making fun of a terrible Japanese film. I sat down and watched the remaining 90 minutes of Time of the Apes (judging by the year, it was probably the first airing), and I was hooked from there.

In the 90s, I had watched clips of MST3K here and there with my dad who is a notorious channel changer - right when you're getting into whats on. Pod People is the first one I remember that really hooked me, and it was on syndicated TV as the Mystery Science Theater hour after he was asleep so I could watch it all (or all of half of it anyway.) It aired at midnight after SNL or something. From then on, I started to seek it out.

I was aware of the show in the 90's but just never got around to watching it. On the up side there's probably 25% of the episodes that I still get to see for the first time.
