Funny story; BLOPS 3 deliberately blocked off ladders in the game to force you to use the double jump/mantle system. And by deliberately, I mean they were modeled on the maps, then literally chained off by self-contained "ladder fences".

Blops 3 was the first CoD I got into and I'm liking IW quite a bit. I like that it's slower than Blops 3. At least that's how it feels so far to me. I also like the rig mechanic way more than the 'hero' setup in Blops 3. Haven't played much MWR yet but the little I have is great. Honestly though I've realized every shooter I've tried to get into is me trying to recapture my love of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

One thing I loving hated about Blops 3 that I'm not sure has changed in IW (but does exist in MWR) is that it doesn't tell you how much XP til your next rank. The barracks just shows you what rank you are currently and challenges you haven't completed. I need to know how many kills I get til I can unlock the next cool gun, you bastards Only thing I've noticed that's changed in MWR is that you don't drop grenades if you die while throwing them anymore. They used to fall on your dead body not unlike Martyrdom barnold fucked around with this message at 22:32 on Nov 4, 2016 |

My pro tip is to try out the RAW machine gun. Kills in 3 shots at any range, as far as i can tell. It is a projectile based weapon though.

MWR Old School gamemode is absolutely loving terrible. Why do they have to shoehorn terrible modes into the multiplayer when that time could have been spent doing something, literally anything else?? also there's nothing old school about it, CoD has had customizable loadouts all the way back to CoD2 and if they think random pickups placed at lovely locations on maps is old school, they evidently have no idea that Call of Duty 1 exists

Old School is bad, but I think it was in the original and they're trying not to cut anything from the remaster. (It was bad then as well, if I recall correctly). MWR is thus far exactly what I wanted: a rootin', tootin', so-called-leaders-prostitutin' good time.

Yeah, the RAW is pretty good with QuickDraw (which is a crutch in this game) and Stock, which doesn't really show you down when firing like it did in BO3. And energy weapons in IW are hitscan - they just reflect walls instead of penetrating and they recharge your mag.

Ok so, wtf? I played ~1hr of IW single player and it's good so far, but just now I played ~45min of multiplayer and it's loving incomprehensible... Like, I run around trying to find the objective, then I walk around a corner and I'm dead, just dead. There's no "oh I see he was hiding from over there" or "we got into a firefight but he got the better of me" just dead. I cut my FPS teeth on CSS, where 1 wrong move and you're dead watching the rest of the match play out, I can 1v4 people in Left 4 Dead, I almost took out an entire team in CSS, but this is absolute madness... Does it eventually make more sense or should I refund now before I hit 120min played? ... Edit: And I can't even understand the menus for Christ's sake. "Am I queued for a match? Iunno", "My loadout? Iunno"

I find the faster I play the more fun it is. gently caress camping corners like a puss, skate and slide all day erry day. Also domination is better than tdm. Better opportunity for flanking ans less getting ganked on spawn.

And while I'd like to play more Dom to get a feel for the maps in IW, it feels significantly sweater than even BO3 Dom was. I'm getting shot to poo poo every match but the IW space maps all look cool as gently caress. I'm probably getting shot to poo poo cause I keep trying to look at the space maps, which look cool as gently caress. ADS strafe speed seems like it has been cut waaaaaaaay down on ARs compared to BLOPS3 which is absolutely loving me because I'm not that good at the game.

Seriously, that alone really turns me off this game, to say nothing of the poo poo netcode that will gently caress this poor canuck six ways to Sunday. All the patch did in the second half of the beta was make every other match a 'shoot first-die first' game, instead of all of them. Javes posted:It's OK, I still complain about other scuf users despite having one myself. The only moral advantage is people who've paid  to Lowtax advantage.

Not sure if Epic variants cost more yet. Good thing most of the guns I want are earned from mission teams.
