Fox Ironic posted:Yup. The Art of the Deal. Trump is explicitly against Wall Street regulations and plans to repeal a lot of them, not add more. The scary part about Trump's win is not that Trump has some extreme policies that he will push through, it is that his platform is basically what you would get if you elected Mitch McConnell + one wall. He is not going to fight his party much on anything, and they won't fight him.

The 100% story of this election was that turnout was dogshit. Wisconsin was its own pile of things, but MI and PA were all about turnout in the cities not being able to make up for getting smashed in the rurals. Also Scranton Democrats. Looks like we needed Biden.

C-SPAN Caller posted:What sport ball do you watch The NBA, mostly. Videogames are for children. I didn't realize I had the hot take of "Candidates in elections have to appeal to the broadest part of the electorate as possible in order to win" but given the Democrats nominated a pariah purely because they felt she could beat someone they felt was worse, maybe it is fresh news to some. Obviously arguing about it here makes no difference but if you feel the lesson here is to work to change the system that had been working fine for them for two cycles instead of just running better candidates, I'd love to hear it. As someone who would actually like to see progressive policies enacted, I believe that the better approach is to convince the electorate to vote for a candidate who can bring those about, but I've been wrong before.

There's a lot of inside baseball being played by republicans with the markets right now. I expect stocks to do well once some jittery nerves get calmed. Ryan will keep Trump under control as long as he doesn't kill us all, but I hope everyone likes coal and predatory banking!
