Well, this is certainly a different type of IOSM.

quote:

How do I put this…
I was actually going to let this pass, because, this “Hillary vs. Trump” for me, at least as how I see, is at the very same level of that time E3 was “PS4 vs. XBox-One“, if people over-react to a simple videogame console, they will make the biggest possible drama out of an election, but now, it’s like, getting completely out of control.
I am, indifferent to say the most, completely careless who is going to lead, but seeing people, that are suppose to be centered, calm, and very open mind loosing nuts and bolts because of this, it’s down uncanny awful to me, I am just wincing a lot while I am scrolling pages and pages.

I came from a country, that is so completely out of judgement or logic when it comes to select the president of the republic, that I am tanned, and I am aware, that whoever that is going to be on the lead, will not make any difference in how I work and do things. Maybe is because I am completely independent from the government, that I don’t feel the struggle, beucase everyone I know that is related to some aspect to the government, yeah, they actually got worried, but just that, “worried”, not taking this attitude:

I saw this three times already, which one I can tell I was expecting it, but the other two times, good lord! and now, we are having the over-compasion:

Like, thinking just posting this will give support to that people, and even more retardly, thinking because some fat man goes for president will end all this in an instant.
Maybe I am the most insensible guy ever, I mean, we already see what I did back there with that “bully time” post (which at this date, I am not having the least remorse for that action), maybe I am not that aware what kind of deal you have over there, but for come over here, and take the most overly dramatic stand that your life will be over, and even some dare cry on camera showing your disagreement of an election, is the feeblest possible mind you can have, you are so below of the human evolution, that this simple event makes you think everything is over, I will laugh, sorry, I am just here like this:

It’s purely funny to me, so go play the victim card somewhere else, fella!

You don't have to be a racist to support Trumo, but drat if this isn't going to bring some smugness out and embolden some actual racists. On the other hand, bringing some of that into the public sphere might actually get people to fight back. I'm hoping it will anyway.

The only comprehensible point I can see is a blind hatred for "corruption" and thinking that voting for someone who's not part of the government will somehow break down the system. Never mind that Trump is basically a personification of every ill that's ever been listed by his supporters (corruption, sending jobs out of America, only working to benefit yourself and not others, etc.) and you'd have to be delusional to think he would actually improve anything.

Some people REALLY REALLY hate Hillary Clinton. Plus lots of democrats still being mad over the Bernie Sanders part of the election.

Why is it that people choose to be lovely to others again? The feeling of superiority? Self-centeredness? Lack of empathy (AKA "gently caress your feelings")? The "I'm right and I know the TRUTH" mentality?

What other things am I missing? I'm talking about deliberate assholery, not the accidental or born from ignorance type.

E: Based on what oldbernless said; there's definitely a resurgence of the "Bernie could win this easily" circlejerk on the net. Because an actual socialist would stand a chance when people flipped their poo poo over a rumored one.

Guess I should have added "idiocy" to the list.

Tossup between idiocy and fear of women (hate Clinton all you want, you'd have to be an idiot to think Trump is in any way better suited for the job)

I believe it's largely this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKeYbEOSqYc

tldr, Trump told all the disenfranchised blue collar factory workers and ex-middle-class families who have lost everything that he's got their back

Plus they literally think blowing up the stagnant political system with an outsider is better than the status quo, no matter who the outsider is

A LOT of rural white people have been thrown into poverty by loss of various good blue collar jobs to automation, cleaner energy, and foreign sweatshops.

Culturally, for many of these people, it's considered the worst shame ever to go for the (remains of the) safety net we've set up for this kind of circumstance. It means you're helpless, not an adult, weak, a complete failure on every level.

These people do not tend to have great educations, so they haven't been taught how to dig in deeper on things and verify statements, plus they're stressed out and tired because they're in poverty, and don't have the interest to get into the confusing and complicated web of how politics works. They mostly just know whatever they see on TV or in ads. With that shallow level of understanding, it looks the same as any other election or just celebrity gossip: someone did a thing, or maybe they didn't, who cares.

Trump has promised jobs. He's not a member of the political establishment, which is perceived as being uncaring at best, actively malevolent at worst. He's an outsider, not given to the mushy doubletalk of politicians, he speaks bluntly and simply. And he's promised jobs. Not welfare or financial support, because these people want to make an honest living and just go back to the good days of their youth when they could support a family with work.

Trump is basically the political equivalent of the Money Cat chain post, promising a magical improvement to desperate people who see no other options.

Alternately, Trump is the rural white man's Obama, promising hope and change.

People are so despairing of their status, so distrustful of the government, that an outsider looks like their only hope. It's voting the symbol of the maverick outside everyman against the corrupt and uncaring establishment. They're often ignorant to the details, but the symbol of hope to them is powerful enough to compel them to the polls.

Will do. So far it's a lot of "I can't facebook today" and acting like things such as abortion rights and LGBT rights are going to be abolished by the end of the day with deathtroopers marching in the streets. Quite a few are calling for the abolishment of the Electoral College despite the fact we're in a state that would be ignored if it wasn't for the Electoral College.

Just tell me I'm exotic.
I am currently physically ill because the radio station I listen to everyday, that has been more or less pretty middle of the road, has had 2 white guys today believing that racism isn't really a big thing anymore. That when a Mexican American and an African American called into the station to share their story they said "I don't believe you". That somehow all of us, like me, who now have no hope of proper insurance will be okay because "Now the insurance companies will be competitive again and lower their prices!"

Just a new kind of anxiety. Sort of like how all the election anxiety built up, was released when the votes ended, and is now replaced with the revelation if what just happened.
