Just try (I know it's hard and that's perfectly okay, poo poo's real weird and bad right now) to understand that we, and presumably people with actual influence, are trying to figure out the fastest and most effective way to get back into power to protect people like you. The Democratic Party, in large part, failed you because of negligence. I, for one, don't want them to make the same mistake again.

Right. "It can't happen here" is exactly how it ends up happening.

She lied to people and told them black kids were dangerous super predators. No one came out to vote for her. End of story. And therefore the solution was to vote for Trump or just not vote at all? Because that is straight up what some people are saying here, and what some Bernout assholes have been saying since he lost, and what a lot of Bernouts have been making GBS threads on people for since the election ended because it's not enough to go 'my candidate was better', we must hammer home over and over and over and over again that if you ever supported that whore at any point at any time even for the sake of trying to avoid an utter catastrophe it is you to blame, not the ones who turned their backs on every last person who is being targeted now by a Trump administration and his loving loony supporters because they just cannot comprehend the idea that sometimes the lesser of two evils IS the choice that needs to be made. Bernie loving Sanders understood this, but his most rabid fanbase didn't consider it important enough to let it loving go at least long enough not to elect Donald Trump at the head of a Republican led Congress and soon to be Supreme Court. She lost by a razor margin. Any number of factors could have prevented this, and one of the most glaring was people choosing to stay home instead of take a stand against Cheeto Hitler. But by all means, let's keep equivocating the two as if they're on the same level of bad, it's what we've been doing this entire garbage fire of an election. Who What Now posted:Nothing the DNC does will win them anything, least of all trying to court people who don't see a single problem with destroying countless lives. So I don't see the point in pandering to racists in a completely futile and ultimately meaningless gesture. There's no good reason to do it and people's willingness ITT to sell their souls for literally nothing is both astounding and distressing. They aren't racists. They're Democratic voters who feel like they've been left out in the cold by neoliberal, centrist policies. If I'm living in a world of poo poo due to a recovery that totally passed me by and all I keep hearing is "We can't do things to help you right now, it's too hard" what incentive do I have to vote for that political party? Why do I care that everything else will go to poo poo, when no one in the main party will even go to bat for me, let alone get something passed that will help me? Hillary is on tape in secret speeches telling bankers that you need to say different things to different people - how am I supposed to read that as anything other than I'm gonna get hosed one more time? These aren't Trump voters, these are Dem votes that the party no longer stands up for. So they stayed home. The thing is, there's nothing stopping the Democrats from jumping out with progressive populism that serves the needs of those voters while still serving the needs of minorities and others. This poo poo is not mutually exclusive. If you're going to be a big tent party you still have to actually talk to everyone in the tent.
