My favorite part of that comic is easily the art, but when it comes to the comic, I usually open it in a new tab, read the rest of the unread posts in this thread, then take my time on FD. I will say that I tend to zone out when I see that cabbage-head or when it delves a little too deep into Australian politics, save for the heart-wrenching refugee camp stories.

Seriously the next time the Dems are in power (so hopefully in four years) they should seriously work on updating the constitution to adopt direct universal suffrage instead of this dumb and outdated idea of using an electoral college.

Almost impossible, even though it should somehow be possible. It's the only thing giving Republicans a chance, and it would require a constitutional amendment, so it's super unlikely to happen. The campaign against it would have to pretty much shamelessly say "We won't win without the EC, so you need to vote against the amendment" which is a bit weird since I think almost all people, political affiliation aside, seems to like the idea of killing the EC.

Obama could do it in the last few weeks that remain of his term. "Constitutional Bill to Abolish Healthcare Forever and also the Electoral College" There, all the Republicans vote for it.

It's fitting that a system designed to placate racist slaveholders that their votes will still count has given us the most openly racist president in the last hundred years. Can somebody just put me in a coma for the next four years? If not, then I guess I'll just look forward to comics where Trump's hands become increasingly smaller until you can't even see them. edit: It would be hilarious if the Senate suddenly had a quick change of heart and let Obama appoint a guy to the Supreme Court. emptyquote. Also, when people inevitably get smug about instances of violence in the protests, calmly remind them that Trump is the one who actively encouraged violence during his campaign, and spoke about riots
