Detroit metro area has the largest Muslim population. Talked to the Muslim Student Association at my university about escorting Muslim students to their cars. I haven't heard about any of the stuff going on around the country happening at my school but I fear it is only a matter of time with how many visible minorities we have. (Also have 24% black student population, which I think is the highest for a non HBCU.) That said, our march last night was inspiring and, in an interesting move, the PD stopped traffic to allow us to get by. I don't know how typical that is and I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that more than 60% of our PD is minorities. Anyway, everything is super scary but I feel better about the left in the US than I have ever felt before.
