We actually get do be the attacker for once down here.

I'm still pulling the bombers out for now though.

Guess who remembered to manually refill his torps. Guess what, they get used even if you miss guys!

We advance north again, while losses are similar in numbers, they lose a lot more squads – and retreat in the direction we are advancing.

We pay the next step in the butchers bill here – there are 120,000 Chinese here, counting non combat squads, and I can't just ignore them.

20,000 dead in China, but so far, its been a relativity bloodless war.

Apparently we can't get to our destination through the net of cargo convoys. An unlucky torpedo hit as we turn away sinks our ship – but she did some damage. I'm going to try raiding south with something bigger now.

I forgot to move the bombers.

I do regret missing this oiler though!

I'm going to have to think about kicking off my offensive in the south soon – its going to be bloody, but I need to do something.
I'll start loading in three days, that should give the last fuel convoy time to arrive an unload, I'm not as well up on fuel as I would like, but its better than nothing. Every convoy is now fuelled, but I have no real reserve.

You did well.

Croctopod has enough to worry about - he got Hand Tentacle foot tentacle and mouth, and ear infection and four teeth coming through at once.

I've also decided to focus on giving him the skills needed to become the overlord of post-apocalypse Britain, as that's where we seem to be heading at the moment.

Gold and lead close enough in density that for thousands of years, alchemists were convinced it would be possible to turn one into the other, and many a counterfeiter used gold-painted or coated or encased lead to pass off bad coinage.

Lead has a density of about 11.3 grams per cc
Gold has a density of about 19.3 grams per cc

That's different enough to easily tell the difference with a scale, but if you're hefting 3mm Napoleonic soldiers in your hand, you would very likely not notice the difference.

Okay so this one is interesting, a tiny minesweepers and a tanker both armed with a single gun were attacked by two Japanese AMCs and managed to sink one and also survive the attack.

We start the day by killing another troop ship – does this mean that another wave of targets is steaming towards Milne bay?

We pick off another tanker.

I need to test the air support for the target area, so I try a bombing run.

The enemy continue their bombing campaign.

At Ndeni, the flak units finally arrive – these guys have been a month in the coming, and the Luganville teams are still a week or so out – but they make their presence felt immediately.

We now know the target area has a number of fighters, but not an insurmountable one. I'm still expecting heavy losses in the attack. I'm going to try some night bombing, but I expect the spies to tell the Allies and all these fighters be miraculously ready.

A good day for the ship reports though!

How many tankers do the Allies get? I know their more mundane transports (especially xAK's) are functionally infinite but are we appreciably affecting their ability to transport fuel by dropping all these big tankers and the odd oiler? Ditto for troops and the big liners we've sunk, too.

Oilers - maybe. Tankers, well. They can ship fuel on regular cargo ships too.

72 Oilers, total.

175+ Tankers, total.

Most of the tankers arrive in Portland or Abadan, depending on the year.

Most of the oilers come in at Panama Canal.

Tankers start all over the place: Palembang, Port Moresby, Singapore, Seattle, Batavia, Colombo, etc.

Oilers are just as spread out, but less in numbers.

That always happens. I've never played the game, but as far as I can figure from watching the LPs it's only measuring the casualties during the actual attack - the rest of the transported material will be counted as destroyed once the ship actually sinks.
