Finland's national team has now gone a full calendar year without winning a single game, apparently. We've fallen like a loving meteorite, considering Team Finland used to once give England and Germany good games in World Cup Qualifiers and seemed to be on the cusp of breaking through into a regular entrant at major tournaments. I could probably write a long effort post about how Finland's downfall was brought on by a religious adherence to well-meaning initiatives like ensuring even the crappest youth players get equal time and attention. Or how football remains the red-headed step child of Finnish sports.
