There are a couple nice features included in the update. Check the Pilot License tab. It actually shows subscription status now. Make sure to minimize that stupid character portrait at the top of the character sheet. Instead of using the portrait that everyone had to make using their space Barbie, it is rendering in real time.

GoonSwarm Federation was the largest lowsec alliance for a few months earlier this year. Delve is a relocation after holding Deklein for the longest peroid of sov ownership the game has ever known.

Eltoasto posted:I dunno, it got me to log in my accounts after 3-4 years away. Our enemies couldn't be arsed to chase us to Delve, and decided to stay up North and settle it instead. We evicted everyone from Delve/Querious and moved in there (including dropping Keepstars); today, we still live there, somewhat comfortably. IWI and the other casino sites were busted for RMT, and CCP decided to ban all third-party gambling entirely. Today, without that guaranteed income stream, the old anti-Goons forces have started valuing ratting/mining space again, and are fighting amongst themselves. In particular, PL and pets have spent the last three months fighting CO2 and TEST over Tribute. e: Oh, and GenEve turned MOA into NC pets. MASSADEATH ragequit, took all their PvPers, and went over to MC. ullerrm fucked around with this message at 23:06 on Nov 15, 2016 |

Eltoasto posted:I dunno, it got me to log in my accounts after 3-4 years away. Goonwaffe is surprisingly doing quite well. We were evicted from Deklein by forces powered by outside-the-game gambling sites (I Want Isk aka IWI). One of our allies alleged that IWI was doing RMT (i.e. selling space gold for real money). Rather than dealing with the RMT, CCP pushed IWI war narrative hard. The war was a complete dud for CCP. GSF leadership decided we had lost before any substantial battles took place, and gave up sov more or less uncontested. There were no battles of note to develop news coverage as CCP had hoped would happen. After a brief stop over in low sec, GSF relocated to Delve which is working out quite well. Also, last month (long after the war ended) CCP was forced into banning all outside-the-game gambling sites on a go forward basis. And on top of that, IWI's directors were permabanned and had all their assets seized by CCP because they were in fact doing RMT. And also, CCP's security department knew of the RMT long ago and attempted to issue bans, and the devs had long ago decided that gambling was terrible for the health of EVE as a game - but the bans were overwritten by other departments (CCP Finance). Then CCP did a 180 when Valve got into legal trouble for outside-the-game gambling. Unfortunately, other EVE goons are not doing so well. Groon is basically (entirely?) inactive. A new goon space guild called Ten Dollar Bond was started up by ex-Goonwaffe CEO, ex-CCP employee Darius Johnson. It... ended poorly. And if you read this thread, you'll learn about lots of goons who are no longer welcome in Goonwaffe for various reasons, and there is much bellyaching about that.

They had fantastic ratting space, and for a while, they had more sov space than the GSF Goons did. Admittedly, they got that ratting space by becoming Pandemic Horde pets and crashing on the couch in Fade. Sure, it resembles a casting couch, and there's rumors about DJ and Gobbins and cannoli. But hey, space is space, right?

Orange Red Bull posted:why does reddit think this severely limited f2p is gonna usher in a golden age of eve and a flurry of activity? I don't know about a new golden age, but it's probably the most mainstream attention eve has gotten since BR5. Which was what, almost 3 years ago now? I think the very limited F2P is mostly good for getting people to give it more of a shot than they did on the trial. The 2-3 week trial was just too short to really get your teeth into the game. It's the people who quit during the trail period because they still didn't know if they wanted to sub or not who might be new revenue for CCP. Otherwise it'll at least be a bump in active players. the one that 1ronbank or whatever was starting got everyone involved banned before even opening, lmao iirc it has only been IWI and people connected to it that has been publicly called out by CCP for RMT, but its ok because lenny says no PERSON was banned for rmt and hes only suspended pending investigation. also grath from PL got really mad on reddit because lenny had some kind of job(?) making it impossible for him to be a scumbag. idk, its a huge mess. nex fucked around with this message at 08:44 on Nov 16, 2016 |

burgergod posted:Is there a best choice race? I am not fully aware of the limitations yet. If I end up enjoying this it will be for player interaction (shooting or otherwise) and not shooting npcs. Gallente is what I'd recommend because you get the best t1 ewar (celestis and maulus) which are always good for having a lot of impact for low sp investment, plus drones and blasters are great, and it also gives you options for making money in null sort of. Otherwise I'd say caldari because rapid lights are broken as gently caress and griffin ewar is just funny to piss people off with.

They're all pretty decent. Minmatar ships are pretty good now with small artillery, but I like Caldari for their weapon variety. I would avoid Amarr. Barring a few stand-outs, their ships are one-dimensional and boring. If I had to choose it would either be Gallente or Minmatar; both races have solid ships at all Alpha classes, have useful fleet EWAR, and their T1 and faction frigates are pretty viable for solo roams. Plus, Thrashers and Catalysts are useful gank boats.

Most Minmatar alpha ships are pound for pound worse than their non-Minmatar equivalent at PVP right now, so you know. A notable exception might be the Firetail. Just go get a Kestrel/Caracal and "giv missel" (can we bring back VCBees now?)
