VideoGames posted:As I said in the general chat thread, I am amazed at how much better the SE runs than regular skyrim. It's absolutely nuts and I cannot wait for all the main mods to be ported over so I can play a much more stable game! It's pretty drat good. My initial disappointment at having to wait for the trickle of standard edition mods is overshadowed by how great it feels to play. I could play a mostly vanilla game this way. Edit: Anyone know off the top of your head if the Outlaw origin from Live Another Life makes the Companions hostile? I keep stumbling on them fighting the giant and they're aggressive on sight. Does modorganiser work with the SE? In fact, is there a thread for the SE or a handy post explaining what can current be used best of all for the SE? (Tools and mods).

Use the nexus mod manager and the updated version of Loot (through the NMM). Its pretty straightforward, very similar to MO.

So I might have just missed it in its settings, but is there a way to have VioLens apply kill moves only on NPCs rather than on me? It really sucks getting chomped to death by a dragon from 50-75% of my health when there's no reason why that should happen. I know the old mod that VioLens revamped let you do that, but I didn't see a setting in VioLens itself. I get a kick out of the weird bullet time arrows.

Has anyone else been having problems with Skyrim SE since patch 1.2? Currently the game is incredibly unstable and is prone to locking up which requires force closing the program through the task manager. Normally I get a few graphical glitches where my weapon will flash red or green as if there is a texture problem and then will lock up. Sound will play for a few minutes then cut out. It seems to be certain areas that do it. At first it was just Bonechill passage but it's mainly in caves and dungeons and mainly in combat. I've updated my graphics card drivers and I've also made sure the game is set to use my graphics card rather than the integrated preset. I've switched over to the NMM and have run LOOT to organise my load order. I've tried windowed mode, running steam in various comparability modes and the game continues to freeze or lock up completely after a few minutes of play. I'm running out of ideas bar just waiting to see if another patch can fix what's wrong. I've also tried switching all mods off. As the game worked perfectly up until Friday I can only assume it was the patch that did it.

Odds are you have a borked file, and Steam will redownload it after checking the hashes of all the files.

Sorry I forgot to list my specs. Lenovo Y510P Laptop Processor: Intel Core i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40 GHz 8gb ram NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M I just tried checking the file integrity of the game through steam and I'm still freezing after 1 minute of play. Thanks to the OP for an excellent mod list. I originally played skyrim on a ps3 and loved it in spite of everything. Saw the special edition coming out, read some reviews, decided to be be a cheap prick and just picked up the legendary edition for £10. Seeing as I'd never played the DLC, I figured I wouldn't gently caress with it too much. I just grabbed a few weapons/armour mods, the fantastic apocalypse magic mod and some QOL stuff. I'm on a laptop so didn't go in for the graphical overhauls. I'll play through once and then continue adding in new content. To anyone considering picking up skyrim and modding: it seems intimidating, but its pretty simple. I am by no means proficient with computer fuckery these days but was able to get things going in a few hours. Get Mod Manager, it's easy to use. Look at the STEP guide in the op - I actually did very little of what they said, but you will learn things anyway. Mod away, immediately acquire a crossbow, sneak up on someone, click the mouse and giggle as they crumple in one shot.

That Ignorant Sap posted:I've used Basic Crossbows Collections before and enjoyed it. Adds craftable crossbows made with other materials to the world. The mod page also suggests another mod incorporating mods from the first. Haven't tried that one myself. Sadly, this doesn't seem to work. I do use Perkus Maximus and the Complete Crafting Overhaul though and the mod is all the way at the end of the load order.

I don't use either of those, so unsure about possible conflicts... all I can suggest is checking that you got the version that includes the leveled lists? Made a bashed patch? Never had any issues, and crossbows were plentiful in the world after installation . Bandits seemed to have a particular fondness for orcish crossbows.

I'm a little confused with SPERG about "Warning: The installer is a little messed up, you need to move the file SKSE_Elys_Uncapper.ini from the data\SPERG\SKSE\Plugins folder to data\SKSE\Plugins. You'll also need to make sure you move the Dragonborn and Dawnguard patches out of the Optional folder." I found the file I'm supposed to move, but where does it go? e: actually i'm not even sure anymore if I know where the original file is. I'm using mod organizer. I noticed I was getting perks every level, also it doesn't seem like my destruction skill is leveling as fast as it should be. Okay I found the plug in file in SPERGS folder, should I put it in the plug in folder of the Uncapper's directory? Drunk Driver Dad fucked around with this message at 07:51 on Nov 16, 2016 |

That would work for the uncapper but all you really need to do is just cut the files in the embedded sperg folder, hit back space then paste them right there in the main folder. Then just make sure sperg loads after skyrim community uncapper. Also activate sperg-dg and sperg-db esps in your mod manager if you have the dlcs. e: I'm assuming you're using mod organizer. Prokhor posted:The option should be called "Player Killmove Immunity" I'm dumb as gently caress because it was indeed right there. Also I'm assuming weird shadow lines on snow is just Z fighting or whatever and can't be helped? I don't have a picture of it because I'm not at my home pc, but it basically looks like a grid of shadows that alternates super fast when I move. It only seems to affect the areas outside of Windhelm and gently caress going farther north with Frostfall anyway so it's not a huge deal. Makes me wish I had just sucked it up and went with SE even if it doesn't as expensive of mod support though.

Drunk Driver Dad posted:Well I got my mods working but I noticed an issue. My skyrim has that deal where when you move the camera slowly it's "jittery". ......In fact the only thing that seems to help is setting the Skyrim process to Realtime priority. I googled the hell out of it and nothing has fixed it, but it's still playable at least. My computer is a Lenovo, I think the stats are I5, 8 gigs ram, and a GeForce GT 730. I went from a 670ti (which was also doing the screaming fan/reboot thing) to a 1070 after getting SE and not only did the jitter go away but I am seeing crap I never noticed before (it's the same if I run oldrim too). SE using 64bit memory addressing does smooth the game out a lot but I can't go on enough about how much a decent GPU helps. Deified Data posted:Edit: Anyone know off the top of your head if the Outlaw origin from Live Another Life makes the Companions hostile? Oh god. I started my first character with only about 5 mods. Installed a few more (equipment, nothing dangerous) during the game. Abandoned that one, installed Skyrim unbound, started another one. Installed a few more, just innocent, tiny mods like a mod to hide the helmet. Just a couple more little mods here and there. I'm now on a bus browsing through other mods. I can't stop, I'm browsing through extra content, for gods sake yesterday I remote desktopped myself from my phone to install mods while I was at work. I must have all the mods. With gods help I will conquer this terrible affliction.

What are like a few mods to start with that you like. I'm finding myself spending more time reading about mods than playing the drat game. Basically: little harder combat, better quality of life nuances Edit: Mod Organizer won't detect launcher for SSE, does NMM work? Edit: start with visual mods and some quality of life. Any combat recommendations? Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch static mesh improvement Total Character Makeovers Wet and cold Probably not required. Immersive sounds overhaul Skyrim Flora overhaul Vivid weather Realistic Water Probably not required. Ars Metallica-smith overhaul Open Cities True storms Run for you lives/vampires attack Reshade Realistic lighting overhaul (sounds like it would be good?) I don't know how to gather info on this without manually searching for every mod on the SE Nexus, and I do not have time for that right now, but a long-term goal is to make some kind of indicator of SE-converted mods/links to them (probably in the 4th post). I'm also going to need to split up the first post at some point and the "Minor Overhauls" section seems like the logical place by divvying it up into more specific categories. These could be "Magic," "Combat," "Crafting," maybe some more.
