I dunno what other sports games are like (I played NBA2Kx and some of the Madden games but don't remember anything about them) but the twin sticks setup that NHL switched to during the PS3 era just feels sooooo right with puck handling.

FIFA and NBA is closest with ball handling on the right stick but stuff like Madden and MLB are restrained by the slavish devotion to their sport so its all just waiting around and hitting A to pass.

I did like the thing EA was doing during the PS2 era where they were experimenting with sports games controlling by mimicking the in-game actions with the controller, like how in Tiger Woods PGA Tour instead of using a meter you actually drew back on the stick and then swung it forward. Or how in Fight Night you mimicked jabs, hooks, and haymakers by swinging the stick around.

But most of all, you cheated BABA

What the heck, Terraria has another patch to download today? How is that game still getting support this far out from its launch?

Man, you know what sports games were cool? Fight Night. I don't know where that series is now but I had a ton of fun bringing my boxers up in the ranks.

I guess ufc games killed them.

I have no idea where to post this, and I did a search but didnt see anything recent... So I just left a 'arcade that has a bar' that had a game called Killer Queen , that was a 10 person 5v5 arcade game. It was a blast and they say they have weekly contests and we had people who had never played arcade games before understanding the dynamics and having a blast..

Is this a game that is new? One that is new that is trying to take off? An old game that never took off but has a loyal following at the small place it is?

The reason I was confused is because it was each a huge machine back to back with a big rear end tv above it showing the whole screen.. It was super fun and I am trying to figure out if this is catching on at barcades? This place was weird because all of the ones I had been to was about getting money on the alcohol end and not charging to play the arcade games but this place charged quarters, which just seemed way old school and behind the times.

I dont know where to ask these questions and hope this is the right thread.

Humm interesting... It took up ALOT of space, but everyone who was playing it was really into it and made a big commotion that caused everyone around them to turn around and figure out what was going on.. It seems like it could catch on because it is as simple as Joust (joystick and one button) but really deep.. Seems like it would be an easy hit in the Indie Steam game community but with how barcades are taking off, a great addition.. We have a few barcades where I am from but seem to more cater to people who drink and kinda want to play games vs people who want to play games and drink a pbr...

If they could make these cabinets available maybe both worlds could combine? Just seemed like a really cool easy game (but actually has alot of deep strategy for a competitive scene) to play and I had never seen it before but the small research I did seems like it had been around for a few years.

After many many years of start and stop play, I finally beat Witcher 1 last night from a new save. This morning before work I fired up Witcher 2 to see the opening cutscene and see if it imported saves and it did. However, my last save is right before the final battle and not after. I feel like I should do it again and then save since there was a critical decision there and I'm a big gay baby.

Barcades like you mentioned that just charge for drinks have a really hard time buying/maintaining new machines. Unfortunately arcade cabinets are expensive and finicky as gently caress, and a guy buying a couple rum and cokes and playing all night doesn't pay the bills like people shoving quarters into pacman.
