beldum has the lowest possible catch rate because it was a gift mon in gen 3 and was never increased for reasons unknown. The metangs in the giant chasm in gen 5 are an equal pain to capture

Beldum line is decent enough in-game if you can get one, afaik. It's one of those where the final evolution has high stats, but evolves at a high level and is weak in earlier stages.

In battles I think it used to be good but it got nerfed hard in gen 6 when they removed a couple of resistances for Steel.

Really? I just finished it by using my cutiefly's evolved form. I used two of its big rear end puff bomb things and then switched to my emo-owl to murder his friend. Much faster totem fight than wishiwashi was for me and I had type advantage for that one.

Charjabug and crabrawler evolving on the equivalent of victory road is disappointing. Can't imagine what the thought process there was.

The selection of early Pokemon is super refreshing after playing alpha sapphire though.

Cutiefly and its evolved form are great. I wasn't planning on using him for long, but now I think he might end up as part of my end game team. Good type, a wide variety of moves, high special and speed, I am loving everything about this adorable little bug.

Gladion just giving you the masterball out of nowhere after you clear Aether Fortress struck me as very weird and unfortunately casual.

I mean it's not like getting the MB in past games was hard, but it was a fun little side quest that was usually in the bad guys' base. But not here, their base is super linear

The Painful Pokemon.

I'm liking the type distribution in Sun/Moon so far, I don't feel like I need to have a Psychic or Electric type the way I usually do. Though it's odd to have guys that used to be mid- to late-game gimmick Pokemon showing up early enough that you can actually use them, like Delibird and Smeargle (this also explains why you're given some Great and Ultra Balls early on, to make up for their lower base catch rate compared to the more typical early game Pokemon). It's also very convenient that you can rob your Pokemon before sending them to the PC.

Once you reach the first major city, yeah. You get the Lens Case for changing eye color for free once you get to the boutique (and Makeup Bag if you're a girl), and the salon is right next door (though it can be pricey to change hair color/style).
