Because they're making the fraudulent claim that there is something to "get." Inception is a very straightforward story that is easy even for the layperson to follow and understand. Frankly, it was a disappointingly unimaginative movie that had literally the entire realm of imagination to play in but instead chose to depict the innermost workings of the human psyche as a bare concrete bunker. If you want something to "get" watch Holy Mountain or Brazil.
