It's definitively my favourite ordnance: it comes out quick, does damage on impact, can be used to deny access to a doorway, can stick to enemy pilots and titans, can blind titans if it lands in the right spot, does a lot of damage fast and it's a freaking explosive burning shuriken!

Just finished the campaign... gently caress that was good. Had some visions of Portal 2 going through some of those levels. Just really fun and fresh.

Yeah it's probably my GOTY. Honestly an incredibly impressive campaign with no fat on it whatsoever. Each level was unique. Most of the best games out there have maybe just one bit that blows you away and leaves a lasting impression. Titanfall 2 probably has like 3 or 4. The town slowly being assembled as you push on through the plant culminating in a simulation dome fight when it's all put together was unreal. The time travel level, where you'd panickedly fight dinosaurs in one era and soldiers in the other in the same area or traverse them while switching past/present times, was unreal. The level where you chase the bad guys' main ship inflight was unreal.

I really do hope the game has long legs, the developers deserve it and it would be an utter travesty if TF3 never came to be, all because of EA's brain-dead decisionmaking. The best singleplayer campaign since Half Life 2.

It gets like that late at night/early morning EU time. You still get into decent matches within seconds though.

most nights theres like a thousand playing attrition, a bunch playing bounty, and not enough to get a match of anything else going

like i tried to play last titan standing yesterday and there were only 6 people so a match never started, it was sad

Been having a horrible experience on PC MP so far. Almost every game is lopsided skill-wise or people quit and leave you in a completely unwinnable game. I keep getting put in matches where 1-2 people are way above the median skill and just get a titan in the first 30 seconds and stomp for the whole game. Certain game modes (pilot only) have literally 0 people in them on the region I'm connected to.

I'm playing some Overwatch and everyone feels agonizingly slow. I spent my first few matches randomly wasting the ability bound to shift because I'm so used to just mashing it.

That's pretty much been my experience as well. I think my age is beginning to tell, this game is just way too fast for me to do anything but die repeatedly in MP.

If you wait much longer there may not be any MP by the time you decide to dip your toe in the pool. I'd say for $30, it's worth the purchase price. The campaign alone is worth about $20 bucks, so even if you don't really care for the MP like I do it's still probably worth it.

I'll second this.

There's what seems to be an internet-wide panic that TF2 multiplayer is stillborn, which will end up as a self-fulfilling prophecy as people don't buy the game because the multiplayer is dead. It's a good game, the campaign is solid, and at least for now, there's solid multiplayer. For $30 it's absolutely worth the price.

I'm still confused as to why people leave games. It's recent become a pretty frequent thing on xbone. That one extra stupid merit is not worth bailing halfway through. I get that superhypercompetitive people exist but you're hanging out with a bunch of pubbies in here.

I think the sales have ended, it was available everywhere last week for 30 because they had a ton of physical copies and sales were crap due to BF1 and CoD launching. Wait until black friday and it'll dip again most likely.

honestly I think I've had one losing game that I wasn't thoroughly enjoying myself in the whole way through. unlike a lot of shooters I actually rarely find myself checking the scores, I'm too busy just having an absolute blast playing even if it is a stomp

I did the same drat thing when I tried playing Overwatch again. Everyone is just so slow and takes so long to kill and I can't wall slide (on all but one character) and what is going on.

You can wall run on one character, but Lucio's wallrun is floaty and unsatisfying.

On PC in europe you'll find around 1500 people split between bounty hunt, attrition, hardpoint, and variety during the afternoon. maybe 150 in pilots v pilots. I wouldn't called mp dead at all, just relatively small.

Yeah it's pretty similar here in NA; earlier today I checked and it was about 1200 in Attrition, 400 in Bounty Hunt and Mixtape, and about 100 to 150 on the rest of the page 1 game modes. I didn't check page 2 but from what I hear those suffer from pop issues regardless of platform due to people not realizing there's a second page.

If you play games outside of attrition, or bounty hunt you can end up having trouble finding games but thats been true of every CoD-like game on PC for the last five years. The community is relatively healthy and active all things considered, complaints about "daed gaem" are more self-fulfilling than the games pop.

Population issues for the less popular modes would be significantly alleviated if they hadn't been loving idiots about how they designed the variety playlists, and had made them match you with the general population for any given game mode instead of only matching you with people playing Variety specifically. I have no idea why they didn't fix this in Titanfall 2, it was the same idiotic problem in Titanfall and CoD beforehand.

You'll never have to queue more than 30 seconds to get a game of Attrition or Hard point and rarely more than 60 seconds for Bounty Hunt or 6v6 Mixtape, so it's not like the game has population issues regardless, but it's still really dumb.

Also, the placement of their datacentres is dumb considering they segregate population by datacentre - last I looked there's three in Western Europe when they could have just put one in Frankfurt or Paris and given everyone between Ireland and Poland a ping of 30-60ms and the ability to play each other. Or hell, pool the player populations for all WEU datacentres and load-balance them to servers in the closest datacentre, with players able to set a max ping if they really only ever want to play on local servers instead of being routed to wherever has enough open spots in a game.
