I'm pretty surprised at how low that number is, actually. I was expecting those rights to be bought for $400 mil but I wonder if part of the reason they're somewhat low is so that Riot can do the streams for free. Also the article mentions a subscription service which (to me) all but confirms that there's gonna be a gsl type subscription of "watch in 360p for free, 1080 if you pay up". There's a lot of ways this deal could go but that's probably the biggest question in the air for most of it: are these games still free? Also, going back to the Scouting Grounds, did they release actual replays for that or only the Directed Camera VOD's? A lot of good could come from releasing those replays considering the circumstances.

I would think it'd start at a lower number and then Riot would work on some sort of percentage of sales thing based on subscriptions/etc. I just didn't imagine the rights to broadcast something they've been broadcasting for free would be as high as they are. I guess I could have been less surprised if I googled some other broadcast rights. EDIT: Welp, yeah, $100 million a year is low for the amount of potential content.
