Bill Posters posted:Wait, what happened to the Triceratops? Triceratops absorbed the much cooler Torosaurus. It turns out that Torosaurus is more than likely a fully-grown Triceratops, but since Triceratops got named first no more Torosaurus. It happened with a dinosaur named Dracorex (KING DRAGON) too. Or maybe it was Stygimoloch (DEMON FROM STYX). One of those dinosaurs was probably just a juvenile version of an adult thick-head dinosaur like Pachycephalosaurus.

Yeah but stuff like that can go both ways. When I was a kid, Brontosaurus' were the best thing ever, and then someone went "actually this thing that was discovered first was the same dinosaur and now it's the much-worse-named Apatosaurus" and 12 year olds everywhere cursed their name. Then in 2015 another group of scientists came along and completed more research and confirmed that Brontosaurus was a real thing and that it was its own dinosaur again and there was much rejoicing.

The MSJ posted:Triceratops absorbed the much cooler Torosaurus. It turns out that Torosaurus is more than likely a fully-grown Triceratops, but since Triceratops got named first no more Torosaurus. I was under the impression that this wasn't well-established yet, and there was some controversy among paleontologists about it. Besides, the Torosaurus is less cool, it's neck shield has drat holes in it.

Featherless depictions of dinos are like looking at bald humans. The feather+ raptor looks way terrifying imo. Also looks more rideable in feather mode.
