I've played the game for about 6-7 hours and have made it to the second island, but I don't know how much I enjoy it so far. I think I prefer several things from ORAS including the storyline/gym style of play. It also seems like this game is way too slow compared to previous generations. I also really liked the dexnav and thought that was a really nice feature so I'm surprised they got rid of it. I mean I guess change is okay but there is like no way I would ever replay a game like this based on how slow the beginning of this game is. Best gen overall imo. There's a few features missing that are sorely missed, but things like Ride pokemon and some other qol things make up for that. The story also starts off slow with all the hand holding but once it gets going it's really good. Best characters, best humor, best villains... Great world and level curve too. Gyms vs. totem mons is kind of a wash. Gyms have more of a 'mini-dungeon' type feel with trainers and whatnot and end in a (sometimes) tough leader battle, but with the totems and challenges they were more free to vary the experience, and the totem pokemon are tough in a different way.

How do you even get Castform? Just find a route where there is a weather effect, then chain an SOS fight until one of the help calls is a Castform? I need a good trade fodder for completing my living dex. Maraenie was working up until I started asking for really rare stuff.

I currently have a Castform asking for Cosmog. Gonna check on it before the day ends, but I wonder if that's asking too much. Apparently someone else got a Lunala though so maybe not? I actually got my own Castform by looking for it on the GTS itself and one person was asking for a Glaceon. Joke's on you, that's super easy to get. I even replaced the one I had within like 10 minutes.

Why was I under the impression that my Nihilego was max speed when it clearly isn't on the judge screen Time to hyper train I guess, a Nihilego that can't outspeed Garchomp is pretty bad. Any idea where the breakpoint is when it starts being faster to grind BP for rare candies than to grind the E4 for exp?

I traded castforms for a couple of Zygarde-doggo forms and vaporized them to finish my Zygarde 100% form. I don't know why I didn't think that would work.

I have sun and my friend has moon. He wants both a solgaleo and lunala with his ID because ~~~Aesthetic~~~. If he trades me his cosmoem and I evolve it will it become solgaleo because it's in sun or lunala because it came from moon?

Man, it's so much easier to dig into the more competitive scene now. Poké Pelago can max out EVs with ease and you can earn the ability to look at IVs directly from your PC boxes. Bottle caps can max out deficient IVs and Synchronize Abras and Everstones are easy to get a hold of. For the first time ever, I feel like I know what I'm doing (without having to dig into tedious menus). I strode into the Battle Tree fully expecting to get whipped, but I made it through all 20 matches and got three of the Power items for breeding. I can't wait to transfer all my 2-3 perfect IV Pokémon from X and Y's friend safari.
