I was so happy with how they introduced the Baron in Doom 4. Not sure if it will ever be as iconic as the original, but I sure can't think up anything better than how they did it.

I agree, but I also would have been okay with a cutscene of Doomguy flipping it the bird, no matter how out of character it may or may not have been.

So this is a game on Steam which you can buy right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89QKrvP1JPE Hey, some of those assets look familiar! I wonder where the dev got inspiration from? http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=54357&p=957097#p957075 Oh.

Bombshell could be a decent sidekick for Duke. I kinda like the character but she just needs to be in a good game, so hopefully this ends up being the case with the Bombshell D3D project. I got to try out Turok and I gotta say the mouse and keyboard setup really help with the platforming.

Sidekick?! ... actually it'd be pretty great if the two of them starred in the same game and she spends the entire ride trying to not get her thunder stolen by Duke.

For it to work in any capacity Bombshell needs to have at least a mininum amount of personality other than "angry grrl".

If I remember right some version of DNF had a sidekick character called Bombshell. So I just figured this Bombshell was related somehow. Oh wait here she is

She was planned at least since Q1 iteration, as she's clearly visible in few scenes. I think the idea was pretty firmly rooted because in the console spin-offs EDF base is staffed nearly exclusively by Barbie-like chicks in camo pants. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5wwSti5FQk I remember reading the DNF FAQ at old 3DR website where they claimed that Bombshell's appearance wasn't yet decided.

Oh, loving finally something new in this field. 3DGE was supposed to have splitscreen support but the updates come so slow I've lost any hope. Here's hoping for proper support of more than one gamepad.

Remood has split screen support, but there's not a whole lot of work on that port.

CJacobs posted:One gamepad, one keyboard-only with kb aim, one mouse-only with lookspring, one flight sim joystick and/or driving wheel Well the gamepad and joystick/wheel will work as long as SDL can profile them (or if they use XInput). Separating the keyboard and mouse is a trickier task, as they aren't treated as separate HALs in Eternity and would instead rely on the same device having two different sets of binds. I'll keep it in mind.

Except his tastes in media are extremely bland, he chuckles at funnies in a newspaper, watches South Park religiously and drinks whatever beer is on sale right now. Okay, that's enough peeking into my "fanfic ideas" folder, I'm not going to show you my huge timeline proving that every classic FPS happens in the same shared universe.
