in first world democracies, you can't create contracts which ask you to do something illegal. well you can, but the contract is void. don't know how the situation is in england. discuss this issue with a libertarian for a fun surprise!

I am not a lawyer but the general idea in contracts is you can't make a binding contract for a illegal act that is enforceable. Another interesting thing I would be curious to know the answer of is whether the right to report a crime would fall under natural justice and thus trump anything in common law or a contract.
