So, which casino on Freemont, or the strip, that is the best for free drinks while gambling?

This doesn't help but the answer was La Bayou. Bring 2 dollars in nickels and by the time you were done playing the nickel slots you'd have 3-4 drinks down.

Myself, my wife, and my 7 year old daughter will be in Vegas for 4 nights in a few weeks. Week before Christmas. Got a killer Black Friday deal on a room. It's a long time for Vegas (for me), and I'm not quite sure what to do with the 7 year old. We'll have a car so transit outside the strip is not a problem. I figured we'd see a couple shows (I'm open to suggestions here) (also looking for suggestions on where to get tickets - I have used the half-price ticket places without trouble before). Visit the Hoover Dam, maybe go all the way to the Grand Canyon (?), Pinball Museum, and a lot of just walking around and hanging out. Tell me I wasn't crazy for booking this.

Not as family friendly as a decade ago. -Hoover Dam/Valley of Fire can be done in a day but 7 may be too young for the good drat tour that goes down inside -pinball HOF is an excellent idea -depending on where you stay the pool might be great for kids. Or terrible. -Outlet shopping? -Red Rocks is neat -Ka or O similar Cirque show(s) would be okay. Absinthe and Zumba it's not so much - there are family friendly magic and other shows but read reviews and make sure you don't get something blue - Bellagio fountains, Venetian shoppes, Caesars, etc are all spectacles and worth seeing and are free - Bellagio art gallery likely too cerebral for that age but nicely curated - I can't comment on Circus Circus but maybe?

I'd suggest a place with a great pool, but you're there in December, soooo... Oh! Visit the container park in downtown. It's very family-friendly and has a great playground. Four nights is a lot though. I think you may run out of things to do with a kid by day 3. Plan some down time.

Is it true that none of the casino resorts have an indoor pool? That's kind of weird. I know it doesn't get frigid there, but it does dip below comfortable swimming weather, right? Every half-assed Holiday Inn around the country has an indoor pool, you'd think it would be a big attraction in Vegas. They could have those pool parties all year long.

Circus Circus has lots of great stuff for kids. There's a big area with carnival games, trapeze shows, and a pretty sizable indoor amusement park. Excalibur also has a fairly big arcade for kids along with some cool themed stuff that would be fun for them. Bellagio and the Wynn have cool displays for Christmas in December. There are Flamingos and other animals you can see for free at The Flamingo. There's a giant Ferris Wheel you can take at the Linq. You can walk around the shops and see the "street performers" at The Venetian and Ceasar's Palace. I actually spent a lot of time at The Venetian as a kid right when it first opened and had a really fun time (although I was slightly older than 7). The non-casino area is a massive. They also usually have ice skating for the winter, and I think the Cosmopolitan does as well. The Mirage usually has big cats and some other animals you can see, although I haven't done that before so I can't vouch for it. The volcano show there is fun to watch. I know several restaurants in the Venetian do not drug test for employment. vvv I don't have any experience in IT departments. I would think the more likely you are to be directly employed by the casino (Rather than a contractor) the higher the likelihood drug testing will be required for hire. And I would expect IT to mostly be direct employees with the exception of IGN slot techs or similar. Capt. Sticl fucked around with this message at 23:51 on Nov 30, 2016 |

It's not exactly warm out. It was 49 degrees yesterday afternoon. And it's not busy enough to have indoor pool parties during the months that it's cold here so that would be a waste of money.

Contemplating a trip to Vegas in January for the wife and I, basically looking to drink and gently caress the whole time, preferably with a nice big tub for the two of us in the room as well. No interest in gambling, but probably interested in wandering and ogling at the high end shops. Maybe catch a show. Eat some good food. We're from Minnesota so it'll be warm for us, but is it cold enough that the city slows down any or will it be fine? Not having to Vegas since I was a kid in the 90s I have no real idea of what Vegas "is" these days, would it work for what I'm looking for, or is it a bad idea? And if so, any recommendations for rooms with nice tubs?

January always seems like the slowest time in Vegas, and it will be relatively cold (40's and 50's during the day, 20's and 30's at night). It's my favorite time to wander because I like it emptier, but if you are looking for crowds it's a bad time to come.

The more unusual ones I've seen are Cosmo's Terrace One Bedroom which has a deep Japanese soaking tub, and the Lanai Suite and Bungalows at the Cosmo have full-on hot tubs, but are probably a lot more than you want to spend and also often outdoors, which in January...

http://www.exoticsracing.com/driving-experience/porsche-911-gt3 That thing was unbelievably fun. They do door to door pickups to a lot of hotels. Admittedly they're the only ones I've gone to. I drove the Audi R8 as well, and the Porsche just knocked it out of the park. They've got an even crazier Porsche there now from what I'm seeing. I'd recommend more than 5 laps. 5 laps is like where you might just start to get comfortable if you don't do this kind of thing often. Also I hope money's no object because I was poor as gently caress after doing all that. But it was so very worth it.

Planning a trip to the southwest in May, would be staying in Vegas at the start/end. How far in advance should I be looking at rooms? Not seeing any screaming deals at the moment, are these likely to materialise or are prices more or less constant? Another question, is there any difference between staying on the strip/downtown in terms of accessibility by car? I've heard it can be a pain to get to hotels on the strip, is that the case, downtown (golden nugget probably) as well? And a last question, how far in advance should I look at car rentals (probably from the airport)? Prices likely to go up/down or should I just jump on a good price if I see it?
