One of the problems of the election being (a) really super close and (b) one of the lowest turnouts in recent memory is that you can easily construct whatever narrative for why Hillary lost that you please, because it's probably technically true.

At the time I figured it was just her low budget temporary logo for the beginning of the primaries and she would replace it with the real one well before the general started.

remember when hillary supporters and the campaign crowed about hillary raising money for downticket candidates and state parties during the primaries unlike sanders when the truth was they were abusing the state democratic parties to get around campaign contribution limits by essentially laundering money to avoid the spirit of the law and funneling it all to the dnc and hillary's campaign

This is why I like focusing on neglect of blue-collar Democrats.

The mistake:
  • was under their control.
  • is easily repeated.
  • can singly account for Trump's win.
  • a necessary lesson for the future.

Yeah, of all the GOP voters to take from Trump, why'd they go for moderate Republicans? Brand loyalty's too deep for that. If it weren't, they'd already have them.

Has there been any examination in Bernie's downticket support working or not? I recall election night looking at a lot of the results and about half his sponsored people got beat down, while others like Pramila Jayapal won. Was sad to see Teachout and Feingold lose :(

Go medieval on anyone even giving the appearance of bias. Not that I think it's something that is absolutely necessary technically-speaking, but the optics ( :ghost: ) of those emails that got DWS "sacked" were a big blow to party confidence and even just the appearance of trying to combat that would do some good.

there shouldn't be a "firewall" of demographically similar states in huge chunks. the initial stage of the primary is actually a great way of doing it. 4 very different states. do chunks of 4-6 states from different parts of the country in waves.

Normalize the system in every state. Don't just have a weird patchwork of ballots and caucuses, winner take all and proportional, and states going back to vote again and again.

Agreed. With high population states being at the same time as the lower pop states.

Also mandatory open primaries.
