How is it that two entire years later, pubbies are still completely incapable of clearing story mode ops content? How the gently caress do you hit enrage on Sparky?

Really enjoying the lethality op changes in PVP so far. Currently been trying out the new utilities and liking the one that turns overload shot in to a knockback shot with extended range and counter measures heals you + drops two kotlo probes on you at once. Also the new noxious gas AoE is pretty useful for shutting down an objective for a short time and the replacement for carbine burst actually reliably hits people so I can spread dots. Overall feeling a lot more sturdy and damaging so far.

HAhaha so it looks like again, Underworld Trading is useless, at least the purple mats. Learned a few purple schematics on my Cybertech and they all require the purple Slicing mat and only the blue UT mat.

Had to set every graphics option to Low and the resolution to 1280x1024 to load the first cutscene. Might be time for an upgrade...

Having said that I'm still averaging around 3 million damage on my Madness when solo queuing. A little more energy management and saying a little prayer if I get netted.

Standard sub access to KotET starts in an hour or so, no downtime supposedly. Also Saturday maintenance tomorrow!quote:We will be performing maintenance on Saturday, December 3rd starting at 6:00AM CST (1200 GMT). This maintenance will address a number of issues including the Chapter XVI Arcann fight and the Galactic Command Planetary Mission bug. Full Patch Notes will be posted with maintenance.

It really took them an entire loving week to fix a game-stopping problem in the Arcann fight. That's seriously ridiculous. I play my main character with someone else so I had to wait for that one but that pretty much stopped early access for the alt I usually play while waiting. Oh well, my bad for thinking they wouldn't break all the poo poo with a new expansion!

Definitely a big problem, but has a couple of workarounds listed in the forum post about it. Unfortunately with SWTORs patches being closed betas instead of open betas, it's not unusual that bugs make it into live. (But again, I work in software development so I'm much more sympathetic than the usual person)

Sith Warrior Dark Jaesa's conversations are quite good, it's just a shame they stop short of the moment she snaps because you're holding her back. To begin with I was disappointed because you couldn't teach her anything as your apprentice (maybe, I dunno, the light side is okay sometimes?), but she's insane and that's fun when you can tell her no all the time (except the first bit where she murders loads of people).

Finished KOTET. I found it a stronger entry than KOTFE overall, even if the corridors full of trash enemies were still there (but to a lesser extent than before). Without any XP buff or using the XP armor, I hit 70 at the start of chapter VII. Mild chapter III spoiler about a bug I had: When you have to blow up the power generators to prevent the bomb from destroying the Gravestone, the game sometimes warped me to the center of the destroyed generators - forcing me to use /stuck, which is on a cooldown. When the whole mission's on a timer, that doesn't work out so well. Had to repeat it about 20 times until I got lucky End of KOTET with a SW spoiler: All in all it was a cool journey for my SW to go from generic Sith thug, to Wrath, to Emperor and it felt like a natural progression. I'm not sure how that's going to feel on, say, a Smuggler or a trooper. End results spoiler:Bye bye, Koth, Senya, SCORPIO, and Torian. You won't be missed and I still have your holograms for decorations I'm not sure that I like the grindy aspects of command points but I guess I'm not the audience for that mechanic anyway.

My main character was stuck on the Arcann fight last night, but after reading about it and failing a few times I managed to get through it. The trick is to use the damage reflect buff from your special Satele/Marr weapon (assuming you got a version with that ability... some people are screwed) and to not use the bash ability. You can use the shield to break his bubble in the first phase and to keep you alive when the damage reflect is on cooldown, but if you ever use the bash it will bug out the fight. It takes a while letting Arcann damage himself to death, but it works. I should note that the reason so many people are in this situation with their main characters is that the DvL event so heavily discouraged playing your main characters. I'm not super butthurt about this because it was fun playing new characters for a while, but I'm a little leery of this thing where they wiped the achievements in case they do the event again. Seems like you won't get to use your old characters OR your new characters, and I don't think I'll be starting a whole third set. Enough is enough.

Yeah, it really defeated the purpose of achievements by deleting them. I understand wanting to run it again, but wouldn't it have been just as easy and less of a "gently caress off" to create a second event? I'm guessing their reasoning is they don't want any "unobtainable achievements" in the game (They finally fixed the Treek one), but those of us nerds that grinded the hell out of that event get no satisfaction other than the sad reminder on our character count.

Man, I just tried a Heroic Star Fortress for the first time. Those things are terrible slogs and unless you get some amazing set of gear for finishing all of them, I have a feeling I'll avoid doing the rest. Maybe it goes faster with a group, but on my own with a rank 50 Lana, it just went way too slowly and I was bored out of my mind by the time I finished the Exarch. I'm not sure how you would tackle it alone without the buffs to get that achievement either, but it would probably be even slower, and I think I'd start going insane at that point.

I did one last night and it was def slower at 70 than I used to be able to do them. But my gear now isn't very good. The exarch, and the guy who summons in packs of skytroopers didn't drop a single thing. I was really bored so I didn't bother to find the paladin but I'm guessing he doesn't drop anything either. Not going to bother doing them anymore.

I was pretty excited to get rid of Kaliyo but autistic antboy was not what I imagined. Looks like my agent and HK are going to be BFFs. I'm finally getting around to kotfe on my sorcerer after returning and Lana with her facelift is my perfect waifu. It's super jarring to keep switching between instances and public zones when it makes no sense for the plot.

I probably shouldn't be surprised by this, but the sheer amount of butthurt raging on fleet chat on both JC and Harb about Lightside dinging wins so much I think tops out all the raging about the Galactic Command RNG for gear. I swear, it was like some are taking it personal, especially on Imperial Side that one guy was ranting all the light sided sith players should lose their characters in a lynching and be made to roll up jedi. I thought all this was, was a chance to earn some extra force alignment points and a possibility of tokens for cosmetics at a vendor and some are acting like it's a personal insult.

Currently I'm kind of mum on the whole DvL thing because I A) after finishing KOTET mostly just idle in Odessan waiting on pvp/uprising queues so i have no idea what any changes in overland zones are like due to it like world bosses and B) dont really have a read on what my individual actions have an effect like I'm doing pvp and "fighting for the darkside" but that doesn't really translate into anything measureable for the DvL meter and 3) I've been dark side aligned the whole time and yet somehow I have 16 light side tokens and no dark side ones

They got more survivability yeah but survivability wasn't their weakness in 4.0 they still lack reliable burst and group utility. They're great at objective play and are flat-out the best node guards now. I still play Concealment cause stabby-stab but it's annoying when my group can't pop a healer and I know we could if I was playing Arsenal. A big change to the meta is the amount of Guard available now. This makes it harder to tank tunnel since a DPS can easily pick up the slack so pressure comps may become ideal which could possibly give Lethality (Hatred still probably better) a place in high lvl play but still leave Concealment and Medicine out.
