I am not a lawyer but the general idea in contracts is you can't make a binding contract for a illegal act that is enforceable. Another interesting thing I would be curious to know the answer of is whether the right to report a crime would fall under natural justice and thus trump anything in common law or a contract.

Apart from in certain circumstances it's not illegal to not report a crime. That's pretty much how all out-of-court settlements work.

How many of the clubs are directly implicated vs being affiliated with youth programs that were doing abuse? Last I heard a lot of Staffordshire teams were implicated through a specific youth program that hired the guy from Crewe.
