So I haven't seen the full roster, do Wood elves not have artillery? Just powerful infantry/cav level ranged units?

Stephen9001 posted:Grudge throwers. And if those fail, (well microed) gyrocopters. I think this will be a time for flame cannons to find their niche. They should still outrange any archers the wood elves can field, and the Wood Elf faction has universally low armor. Grab a flame cannon to support your main line and a cannon/grudge-thrower to get the enemy to close their lines.

The big green sasquatch can huck a spear like a bolt-thrower, but that's about it. 4th edition Mage Lords were little wild-haired nukes in a green cloak, but that's not exactly 'artillery'.

They do have Arrow of Kurnous on Glade Lords and Waywatcher heroes, which acts as a 90s cooldown bound spell equivalent to projectile spells like Fireball, but nothing along the lines of a mortar or a cannon or what have you. Just tons of highly mobile, fragile, low model count but high quality infantry/cav level shooters.

Everyone else will need to use Ambush stance way more. I guess that's why they hate the Beastmen so much.

Dwarves are going to have an absolutely wonderful time dealing with Waystalkers. Hope you remembered to bring Gyrocopters!

Organ Guns and Flame Cannons are going to have a hell of a good time against a Wood Elf firing line, hell, Flame Cannons should finally be useful since very few WE units have armor and the trees are flammable. Quarrelers should also win against Glade Guard because they have shields and the Elves don't.

This video posted on the last page. A really in depth look at the Wood Elf roster, and starting at 1:16:18 he goes over the new Beastmen stuff. Morghur is nuts, gets 4 free Chaos Spawn. Also Sisters of the Thorn look very, very interesting. blindwoozie fucked around with this message at 03:49 on Dec 7, 2016 |

Has anyone posted some videos or had a stream of just some custom battles rather than the campaign? Just want to see some of the unit combinations in action against common army comps.

I guess this is as safe a space as there is on the internet to type this: I've never been more excited to be an elf than I am at this moment. The DLC can't release soon enough

Mousillion and Middenland both look like their being geared up to become full playable factions in the near future. They appear as factions in custom battle now, the Red Duke has a unique model, and they've changed Middenlands roster (nothing added yet but they've removed all the Sigmar units)

At this point they can just keep adding poo poo in and I will keep throwing money at them. The DLC thus far has proven to be fantastic, and they keep adding on to it later (e.g., morghur, harpies, etc.)

V for Vegas posted:Battle results with the number of kills each of your units got always fly past too quickly - is there a mod that slows that down or puts in a button you have to press so you can review it properly? Don't think there is, but on the post battle screen (past the loading screen) when you're deciding on what to do with captives/captured settlement, you can hover the mouse over any unit and check their kills individually. Not quite as convenient but you can still get the info you want including reinforcing armies.

Well, particularly after Civ6, I'm enjoying this immensely so far. Just the setting is drawing me in, I'm no 40k fan but it's all done so nicely. One question though and drat it's annoying.. the UI scaling. I have to jack it up to 150 to be really comfortable, but it just kinda increases the size of everything (which is great, works perfectly) but makes it all blurry. It's a bit like a monitor displaying something other than it's native resolution. But I guess the only way to fix that would be have resized UI elements for each individual resolution.. rather than just scaling the existing ones. Hrm. Anyone else know what I'm talking about? It's because everything looks so drat nice and the interface is glorious compared to Civ6 but when I scale it bigger I wish it looked as crisp as 100%.

At this point my main fear is that the way the Wood Elf LLs use amber for one unit type or another is going to render one of them so suboptimal they aren't worth playing. That would be sad because I like them both

So, uh, if any of you guys want to find information or whatever about treekin, remember to put "warhammer" before treekin before searching it on google. This has been an internet sanity PSA. I can have moments of... eccentricity and sometimes be quite curious about things. Please forgive me if I do something foolish or rude.
