"This person has their vagina within three feet of their head and you're talking about personal space." Uh, that's how female anatomy works? How long does this guy think a torso is? I'm aware he's probably talking about the woman's vagina being near the guy's head, but it's not clear.

Even so, is that comment ? Like is this dude always evaluating the proximity of vaginas to his head to see if a girl is infringing on his personal space ?

The racism topic has basically reached a standstill because the admins refuse to show up in it and the mods that do show up just go "this isn't racist guys, it's fine!" over and over again until the people posting throw their hands up in exasperation because there's only so many times they can point out the insanity of trying to defend someone saying black people are the literal cause of every problem in america.

Re: the "war on Christmas" stuff, one thing I gotta say is that we really are paranoid about overtly acknowledging it here in the US. When I visited London a year ago I noticed that all the decorations everywhere said Christmas this, Jesus that, and everyone wished each other a Merry Christmas or Happy Christmas no matter who they were—women in hijabs to tweedy men, store clerks to young Indian hipsters, everyone. Hardly a "happy holidays" or "season's greetings" figleaf even. Christmas is a thing everyone goes all-in on. Just NBD. I used the wifi at an Oxford Street McDonald's and that put me on their UK mailing list; this is the kind of thing they send out: Imagine how bizarre that would seem in the US. The stateside mcdonalds.com doesn't even have a single seasonal blinky light. I think these War on Christmas people would ironically be a lot happier in some country other than America is what I'm saying.

The funny thing is that Hanukkah is a minor holiday elevated by where it is on the calendar (this year it's actually Christmas Eve to New Years Day) and it also including gifts. And loving nobody celebrates Kwanzaa.

Data Graham posted:I think these War on Christmas people would ironically be a lot happier in some country other than America is what I'm saying. I think another difference though is that in America, Christmas is still much more religious, whereas in some other countries it's featured in more advertising and stuff but the image is Santa, presents, holidays, family, etc. not Jesus. I could be wrong, but that's the impression I get.
